Elvis Costello Covers and Collaborations

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

On behalf of everyone else...

Huh?
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

that was a random post, wasn't it?

I will try to clarify:

1. I thought the cover list was impressive
2. I was looking for a similar list for collaborations
3. The artists who cover Elvis and the artists he collaborates with are very often interesting on their own.

I think Bill Frissel is one of the best guitarists... and I like the MacManus/Macca collaborations (So Like Candy, You want her too, Don't be Careless Love, etc. ) better than the other McCartney pieces.
Ron Sexsmith was also a discovery via Elvis.

Ahh.. gotcha.

Yeah, I've discovered quite a few artists thanks to Elvis.. like T-Bone Burnett and his wife Sam Phillips, and Randy Newman.

Your list seems pretty complete at a glance,....

Have you seen JohnE's list of EC discography...

and this other cool one...

You probably have seen them anyways. I listened to Charles Mingus cos of EC.

Haha... not Sam Phillips the now deceased founder of Sun Records, but Sam Phillips the Christian-Rock turned secular Beatlesque pop-rock blonde female singer/songwriter.

Wow, I'd never heard of the female "Sam" Phillips. I just assumed that you missed a comma. :D
