Re: European tour 2017
With the addition of the hot off the press date announced today, we have:
Antwerp March 12th
Utrecht March 15th
Sheffield March 20th
Elvis is wily enough to know the show will need to change - this year's Detour was different to last year's Detour and it will need to change again.
Upon seeing the Sheffield date is a Detour show, I was indifferent but that will change when a more local date comes up. However, it could be that Elvis is alternating the show ie a full tour in 2015 (Detour part 1), Warwick and London (different Detour Part 2) and this will be Part 2 taken to a few different cities, excluding London.
After Holland he could start in Scotland and work south or start in the south and work north.

Re: European tour 2017
I'm seriously thinking about lowering my standards and going to the Mudchester show.
My guess is that EC won't Detour to Liverpool in 2017 as the Phil show was DVD'd here.
More of a long shot is my hope that he'll return to Liverpool ( for a standing gig at the Mountford Hall please) with the Imposters in 2017 with their Special Presentations format.

Re: European tour 2017
The series of special presentations coukd be a variety of things - it could be orchestral such as the one already announced, it could be one in a different series of shows eg playing albums in their entirety.
Orchestral shows will be expensive so it wouldn't surprise me if this was confined to the US in the meantime, but a few selected venues later on.

Yeah - I'm lucky to have seen EC play with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in 2008, but this was a one off part of our Capital of Culture celebrations. I'm hoping UK Tour of Special Presentations would mean whole album run troughs, my pick would be Get Happy , but with my luck I'd get North !!!!

The Pittsburgh show is at the same venue where the Pittsburgh Symphony plays, but I haven't seen any indication that the orchestra is involved in EC's show. Did I miss something?verbal gymnastics wrote:The series of special presentations coukd be a variety of things - it could be orchestral such as the one already announced, it could be one in a different series of shows eg playing albums in their entirety.

I think I've misinterpreted this as being Elvis with the Impostors and the orchestra.
It might well be though is my only get out

Re: European tour 2017
I must admit I am a bit indifferent to another 'Detour' tour. I only went to one palladium show for that reason.
I will have a look to see what he adds. I am sure I'll change my mind if there are London or Southend shows.

I think it'll be the 2015 Detour shows in places outside of Warwick and London.

With the Helsinki date announced (February 20), the European leg of Detour is getting longer than expected.
Since you put me down, it seems i've been very gloomy. You may laugh but pretty girls look right through me.
