Elvis in 2 sentences

Post by bambooneedle »

I thought of some that sort of conjured EC up for me, and it has been hard to do (so far), but would be interested in seeing what other people might come up with.

Elvis isn't Presley. Thank God.

Bitter Sweet. Better sour.
Preacher was a talkin' there's a sermon he gave,
He said every man's conscience is vile and depraved,
You cannot depend on it to be your guide
When it's you who must keep it satisfied

Do two long sentences count?

Angry, smart, awkward, skinny, bitter, heavy-drinking, ambitious, young man.

Contented, balding, pudgy, smug, abstemious, rich, middle age man.

Those are more like two long sentence fragments, don't you think?

Miss BA, you are adorably strict!! Since Bamboo had given us the subject (EC), I assumed there was no need to restate it. Let's try it again, just for you, since you bother to read my scribbles all the way down Argentina way, and with a nod to Storm's perceptive comments:

Mr. Costello was an angry, smart, awkward, skinny, bitter, heavy-drinking, ambitious, young man.

Mr. Costello, eerily mirroring the current general condition of his overwhelmingly male fan base, is a contented, balding, pudgy, smug, abstemious, rich, middle age man.

Ha! This made me laugh. The insistence on full sentences is merely a part of my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) training...
