Elvis sketch

Post by nobodygirl »

I had my friend at work do this for me. He wasn't too happy with it, but I love it.

sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Also, sorry about the quality, it's from a phone picture as it is too large to scan.

You meant to say that Elvis Costello did a sketch of your friend, right?

This is a sketch of Elvis C. Stello, that's why nobody recognises him.
It would be strange to have a name like that, I bet he gets asked lots of questions.

......which appeared with this item in a late 1970's Elvis feature in a U.K. weekly pop mag. -

Discography to date

The Story of E

AFTER a quick consultation with the discography computer - whir... click ... buzz: Ol' four eyes fanatic, John Foyle of Dubling, whose specs were recently broken in a close encounter with a flying shelaleigh wants the gen on all Elvis Costello releases. `Ere goes:

In 1977 Elvis released four singles and one album with Stiff Records: `Less than Zero/Radio Sweetheart' (25.3.77) BUY11; `Alison/Welcome to the Working Week' (27.5.77) BUY14; `Red Shoes/Mystery Dance' (7.7.77) BUY 15; `Watching the Detectives/Blame it on Caine/Mystery Dance' (4.11.77) BUY20; and the album: My Aim is True' (22.7.77) SEEZ3.

Elvis then signed with Radar Records in March 1978 and released `I Don't want to go to Chelsea/You belong to Me' (3.3.78) RAD3; `Pump It Up/Big Tears' (28.4.78) ADA10; `Radio Radio/Tiny Steps' (27.10.78) ADA24; `Olivers Army/My Funny Valentine' (9.2.79) 9 ADA31; `Accidents Will Happen/Wednesday Week/Talking in my Sleep' (4.5.79) ADA35; and two albums: `This Years Model' RAD3, released 17.3.78 and `Armed Forces' RAD14, released on 5 January this year.

Yes , one of the early signs of my interest in Elvis.....and awareness of British perceptions of Ireland.

I think that my friend should've made his face wider and the glasses bigger. He said he'd redo it for me when he finds a good picture of Elvis, maybe that one will be better.

The picture posted above by John has too many feminine features that don't characterize Elvis at all: the pouty voluptuous lips and the feline. almond eyes.

This looks like a picture of Elvis if, hypotetically speaking, he had just undergone a sex change operation (from Elvira) and the injectable testosterone hormones had not yet taken hold of the secondary sexual characteristics.
