Hear Some Otherwise Unavailable Drumming by Pete Thomas!

Matt Brown was the frontman for Atlanta bands Uncle Green and 3 lb. Thrill in the 80’s and 90’s. Though these bands were signed to Atlantic and Epic, respectively, their commercial impact was negligible aside from a minor college-rock hit with “Diana” in 1995-6. There was considerable critical interest, however, as the bands were known for the high level of their musicianship and songwriting. They were among the first bands produced by Brendan O’Brien, who has subsequently become quite famous after working with many mainstream acts.

In 2000 Matt Brown recorded a solo album, with producer Rick Neigher, which has never been released. Pete Thomas plays the drums on four of the album’s tracks. Two of these songs, “King Of The Nighttime” and "Amazing" can be heard and downloaded from http://amphibianskin.com/music.html .

Upon requesting a drum track somewhat similar in style to that heard on “Peace Love and Understanding” for "King of the Nighttime", Pete informed him that not only could he play in that style, but that he would use the very same snare drum! It's a great track.

Hope you enjoy the music!
