'Green Eggs and Ham'
'Green Eggs and Ham'
For those of you that don't have the time or inclination to join Poppet, Otis, and that crew in a discussion of Ulysses I will be discussing Green Eggs and Ham followed by Horton Hears a Hoo

I have a fox and a box that I refuse to dine with, this it is true,
But I've been disqualified by being part of the 'Ulysses' crew
You have such places to go with Theodor and his clever rhymes
But even Horten is draw to Joyce's musing on the ocean and wine
This is fact, at least to me my dear grown boy
So read as you wish and try not to kill our joy

I think I can recite most of Green Eggs from memory, though don't know Horton. My littlest boy adores GE&H, and it's a bedtime regular. Unfortunately he's a horribly fussy eater, and all attempts to make him apply the moral of it to real life have failed miserably. Did I hear there's a plan afoot to follow the massacring of Cat in the Hat with one of GE&H?
I love the Seuss story in the Snitches collection called, I think, What Was I Frightened (or Afraid) Of? About a pair of pants with nobody in 'em. Splendid stuff.
How about a Joycean version of GE&H called Snotgreen Eggs and Ham?

There's more to life than books, you know, but not much more
