I knew that. When 10 or 11 my brother would make me put on some giant headphones and listen to that among their other material (The Green Monalishi, The Ripper, Breaking The Law, et al... quintessential heavy metal).Judas Priest with Diamonds & Rust
Johnny Bye Bye? A Springsteen b-side though I'm almost certain that BS wrote it, and not so much a memorial so forget it.the Steve Forbert song that memorialized the death of Elvis Presley?

Elv, it's not like that at all. It's just that you tend to draw your questions from a type of arcana that's not known to many people on this board. In other words, yes, you're just too damn good for us! We all love a challenge, but maybe we should institute a 24 hour rule? Or is that too wimpy? Maybe...
24 hour rule maintains the momentum of the thread. I'd never heard of Steve Forbert until I come accross him on the Ray Davies tribute album which got mentioned on the RD thread. He does a great take on "Starstruck", when his name popped up on this thread I looked at steveforbert.com and he seems to have had a huge career without me noticing. Does he have a famous signature tune that I'd know? What's his story, El Vez?
Still don't know the answer.

Good guess. Jim has played with just about everyone, but according to this,

not Steve. The musician in question backed EC last friday in Bochum, and also plays an amazing solo on Steve's new album.
