Random Thoughts
Re: Random Thoughts
Where's Mike Boom with this year's FARTY awards? I'm about ready!
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

Re: Random Thoughts
I'll be doing my top five meals of the year post soon. That usually livens up the board for months.Who Shot Sam? wrote:Been dead around here recently, hasn't it? Board is dying a slow death.migdd wrote:Where is almost everybody in general?

Re: Random Thoughts
How about a group NY resolution to post at least twice a week?
I'm really looking forward to BWAP's top 5 meals.
And the Return of Mike Boom. Not that I have any top 5s at all.

I'm going to try taking fish oil tablets. They suggest three a day. Do I really need that much? I think not. I'm worried I will sprout gills.

I'm certainly guilty of being on the missing list.migdd wrote:Where is almost everybody in general?
Unfortunately my work colleague is on long term sick and I am covering a lot of his work which means less time for me on the board during working hours
I do get to lurk on the board every now and then but not necessarily post.
Today i'm treating myself to a bit of time here though as you need a little r and r!
Who’s this kid with his mumbo jumbo?

I got an iPhone this week and this is my first attempt at browsing the forum and posting with it. I like new toys

Re: Random Thoughts
Maybe I should major in Art History. Hm.
My tongue hurts, I think I drank my tea too quickly.
Perhaps I should be more worried about finals.

StrictTime - in answer to your random thoughts:
1. possibly, but still up in the air right now - you have time to think about it
2. perhaps, but slow down. Tea is to be enjoyed and sipped
3. not a chance. You're a smart cookie and you study too much and there's no need to worry
Random thought of my own. I haven't done hardly any Christmas shopping. But that's what the internet is for, right?

i hate to admit it, but bush looked pretty good ducking that first shoe.

Re: Random Thoughts
Although throwing a shoe at someone is one of the greatest insults within the Arab world, Bush should still feel lucky that it was only a shoe!

He looked like he was enjoying it, like it somehow justified his entire political career. 'I invaded Iraq and still managed to evade the flying shoe!' By the second shoe, he was clearly thinking 'OK, this is how it's going to play out, each and every one of them will throw his shoes at me and I will duck the lot.'

Re: Random Thoughts
My parents took us to see the grandparents in MS one summer, and to entertain ourselves we were given the keys to the Caprice and the back pasture.
Good times.
I was 8 or 9, maybe.
Anyway, times have changed a lot since those halcyon days, os.

Re: Random Thoughts
When I was about 10 or 11 my 14 or 15 year old bro' would take the keys to my parents' car when they were out in the other car and drive me madly up and down country lanes. This was on Jersey where the speed limit was 40. I learned the word 'adrenalin' from him then. At the time it was terrifying, I half wished he wouldn't do it and half loved it cos it made me feel big and cool. Now I look back and am amazed and grateful that we didn't end up in hospital or worse.
My oldest is 16 in Jan, so at least I have a year before driving lessons become an issue. May that year pass slowly!

Re: Random Thoughts
randomly, i actually learned to drive on my grandfather's farm in a 1955 international harvester pickup truck he bought new. i could tear thru those fields. after everyone was dead it was about the last thing left out there, so i took it and restored it and still have it. it has 32,000 original miles.
