Cruel,

I'll have a look at this soon, but to get you started the first two chords are G and Am ... repeated a few times, like this:

.......G ...............Am
She'll fix you with an iron cross
......G...................Am
And cover you up with petals
......G..........................Am
And hang you up with some amber beads
.....G.......................Am
And four or five precious metals
--Paul--
Now put on your ironic dancing shoes
And dig my brand new rhythm and hues:

Hey thanks alot for that starter I knew that it started off with a G but beyond that I was stumped, I even turned to the Bonaparte Room tracks for more insight... the Bonaparte is better than the original recording, the one on the album is too friendly sounding.

Best Regards,

Joel,

I've got the chords in the Brutal Youth songbook, somewhere. When I get a mo, I'll write 'em down for you!

There is a song book for Brutal Youth ? THAT'S AWESOME!! I wonder if there are song books for those hard to find EC songs, basically stuff like That Day Is Done and such.

I own this. It's a songbook of the first four albums plus Taking Liberties. Pretty cool.

Okay, this is a great song to sing live as it's v punchy and direct. By the Brutal Youth book, with the verse, it's the repetition of

G, Am7

Then the chorus ("But there's one thing...")

(G) There's one (C) thing
(Em) have to keep in (Am) side
(G) because I waS (C) shaking
why (Em) don't you get some (Am) pride

There was a (Em) clown strike...
(C) play so hard and (Em) I'm nobody's fool

You don't (G) have to go so (Am7) far, cos I (G) love (Am7) you as you are....

Repeat, then the last chorus changes slightly:

And it's (c) pandemonium for the (Am7) humble and the (G)mighty; you don't have (Am) have to (G/B)tumble (c) for me...

even a (Cm) clown knows when to (Em) strike...

Agh, it's really annoying - an old fan site, John Everingham's, used to have LOADS of chords, but since it's turned into a Wiki, it's lost them - unless I'm not looking correctly?

Early 80's (i'm old).

PM me the songs you want. As pointed out above, pretty much all of them are on the wiki and old sites.

Funny enough I am only 15, all this new music is terrible, Elvis is so under-rated and it's quite surprising. But yes if I could get the chords for the songs listed below I would be SO grateful, they'd be a perfect expansion to my song lexicon.

London's Brilliant Parade (Because all the other tabs on the internet have awkward placement of chords, I tried to work out the first verse but the A in the start is off tune with the other verses)
Miss Macbeth
ANYTHING ON MOMOFUKU
If anyone has a guitar intro to Last Boat Leaving from Spike
If anyone has My Mood Swing you would be the greatest person ever if you sent them lol
and finally (for now at least) If I haven't over used my amount of free chords, BLACK SAILS IN THE SUNSET.
If you guys would be so kind as to help me out here I be very grateful.

Here are the Trust chords - or, most of them:

http://www.elviscostello.info/guitar/trust.html

Here are a large amount of other chords - fingers crossed that what you mainly want is here (hit the 'chords' link next to the album of your choice).

Happy strumming! Great to hear of a younger Elvis fan passing on the word about the great man... get your friends into him, too!

Thank once again Neil, unfortunately there aren't any Black Sails In The Sunset chords to be found, I am especially keen on learning that one because I think the version on Costello & Nieve back in 98 was absolutely beautiful. Thanks for that also, unfortunately again and not to be the bearer of sadness but all kids want to listen to now a days is this shitty thrashing stuff, and pop with no meaning.

P.S. Yeah I've been fully aware of those chords but they are occasionally missing more... lesser known EC tunes.
