While thumbing through some old clippings looking for signs of Phil Lynott, I happened upon this assessment of Elvis' appearance from Lou Reed, chosen by the NME as one of it's "quotes of the year" in 1978:
"I believe in glamour. Tom Waits? Why would I want to listen to him? He's ugly and grubby. They call Elvis Costello four-eyes for a reason. How can you look at him and get off?"
Guess it's too late for Lou to offer some glamour tips when he's on "Spectacle" this week.
