This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Bruce Thomas writes -

( extract)

Since my full-length biography, Bruce Lee: Fighting Spirit, appeared ten years ago, I’ve done many interviews and answered many questions about Bruce Lee. One of the most frequently asked of these has been: ‘Is Bruce Lee the Greatest Martial Artist of All Time?’ The simplest answer is to say ‘Yes!’ After all, Bruce Lee’s achievements as both martial arts innovator and action star are second to none.

My first aim in writing Immortal Combat is to see beyond the popular image of Bruce Lee that has grown up over the past 30 years, and to set his life and legacy in a far wider context than has ever been done before. To do this we will also look at the lives of other remarkable martial artists and instinctive fighters — like the karate champion, Joe Lewis, and the founder of aikido, Morehei Ueshiba.

Nowadays, the human body is often regarded if it were nothing more than an object to the fixed when it goes wrong — just like a car, or a computer. As a result, we have lost the abiliity to feel and sense ourselves from the inside — and the same ability to have a direct energetic connection with life at large. The life of Bruce Lee, and others, shows how we can relearn and remember a way of communicating where the body, mind, and spirit operate as one holistic system. To show how this effects a complete and profound change— and to show how this might even change the reality in which we live — is also the aim of this book.

Funny, I thought he was still alive... lately, he has been appearing in Mars Bars commercials here in Australia.
