Elvis videos

Post by MegJS »

I haven't written anything for a long time here... partly because I (unfortunately)have nothing to add to constant threads on Elvis' shows, partly because my computer was struck by the lightning and has been returned to life not so long ago. Still, I'm listening to The Man's records almost every day and I can say for sure I'm the biggest fan of WIWC in the whole Universe. A day or two ago I decided to download Elvis' videos(I have a slow connection speed otherwise I would have done it long ago), but the links on his official site don't work. Besides, there are three versions of 45 video: diner, euro and euro with subtitles. What's the difference between diner and euro versions? Which songs from WIWC and TDM have videos(I know only 45 and Monkey To Man)? And where can I download them(and the ones from other albums of course) and maybe some other things like interviews? By all means I will search for it all myself but I'd be so glad to get somebody's help.

Oh and how do you like the Monkey To Man video?)))

I love the Monkey to Man video - good fun. Can't remember watching the 45 Euro version, but the diner video's kind of a hoot. Filmed is some non-descript diner in the Boston area I think.

In another thread WHAR mentioned torrentspy.com, and there's thepiratebay.org, and prolly lots more. Be careful though, there's lots of dodgy stuff in amongst the good.

The standard video for 45 was a lame ass effort, it must be said.

Who needs a videos when the song's so good?
Preacher was a talkin' there's a sermon he gave,
He said every man's conscience is vile and depraved,
You cannot depend on it to be your guide
When it's you who must keep it satisfied

ReadyToHearTheWorst - thank you

I quite agree and I'm not fond of videos that much at all but... if it exists, a small movie with Elvis, I want to see it.

Ooh, even the repugnant little mini-suite that came with "North"? I really wish I'd never seen that.

They are just for watching online AFAIK but rollingstone.com used to have a nice set of EC videos. They seem to have a lot of videos online searchable by artist.

Yahoo, Mtv, and vh1 all have a few on their sites, but mostly short clips. Worth a look nonetheless if you're totally unfamiliar.

The Rhino site is streaming the following EC videos (at least you can watch them):

This Town
Sulky Girl
So Like Candy
The Other Side Of Summer
13 Steps Lead Down

Thanks for that bamboo. I'd never seen the This Town video before. Good to see the Spectacular Spinning Songbook and the 7 and a half Deadly Sins Heart again. And a young Harry Enfield as compere.

Babes, Bikes and Beelzebub - I love it!

The early ones are all great too. The final scene of PLU where they all stumble drunkenly down the hall makes me giggle.
