There IS no bigger rivalry and game than OSU /Michigan. Of course, history repeats the 'same defeats' and Michigan once again loses to the Buckeyes!

My son prepares, halfheartedly, for the Rose Bowl, but the chances the buckeyes will roll into the National Championship aren't too shabby.

Gooooooo Buckeyes!!!

I woke up this morning and thought of our very own Red Shoes. It was nothing untoward in case you were wondering (that's not an insult is it :?  )

This is just to let everybody know that the Official Christmas Music Season has begun. Feel free to dig out the Johnny Mathis!

If you go here and scroll towards the bottom of the screen, you'll find a Christmas classic!

Dear City of Toronto Parking Authority,

Please don't give us a $50 ticket for parking in our own driveway. It's just not right. I know Toronto has this crazy law that you have to pay an annual fee to park in your own driveway... but, see - we did that. We sent in the cheque over the summer. You were even quite nice to my husband about it - you explained everything that we needed to do and sent us a form rather quickly. We sent it back with the full payment. I now see (by looking through old banking records) that maybe you didn't cash that cheque... but see, we sent it in! We really did. And we know that you were sending the previous owners notices that they hadn't paid because we accidentally opened one of them (which is how we learned we needed to pay it to begin with), so.. if you didn't get our cheque, why didn't you send us a notice? We would've taken note. We pay our bills, honest. I know you must think our address is worthless for paying bills; We've seen the "OVERDUE ACCOUNT" notices to the previous owners. We've been returning a lot of their mail to sender. But see, we're not them. We pay our bills! Even when it's right before the holiday season and we're broke as hell, we find ways to pay our bills. Please find better ways to tell us that we owe you money, and don't make parking in our own driveway illegal.

Unkind Regards,
RedShoes

That's crazy. You have to pay to park on your own property? Bizarre.

Yeah... it's just another way for the city to make money. I didn't have so much of a problem with it, honestly. I'm all for taxing drivers/cars if it encourages more people to use public transit (not that I take public transit daily... but still). And it's not much - like $75 for a year. But to ticket us in our own driveway? That's just ludicrous.

It is bizarre! I just hope nobody from the UK Government has read this post. If we start getting proposals to tax people on this basis I'm taking it out on you Red

Where you're going wrong is paying your bills in the first place. They take advantage of people like you. My advice is stop paying until the court threat letters arrive.

How do you get accepted into a university you don't even remember applying to? :? I'm so terribly confused right now.

In less confusing news, my vinyl copy of Trust arrived yesterday. Beautiful.

Most like a generous uncle. 3 on the cheap, that I bought for myself, 2 from my parents for birthday, and...5 I think from my dear dear uncle Calvin. God bless him, man.

Heated seats, mmmmm.

And, one of my very close friend's birthday is today! Woooo! He's now, again, older than me numerically. :P

oh good lord, that's awful. and in such a rated "G" country!

I had an accident myself this morning. Not THAT kind of accident. The freaking dog decided to stop in the doorway, so that I performed a not-very-elegant swan dive over the dog, out the door and onto the concrete sidewalk. It's not every day that the first words out of my mouth are goddamit.

In happier news, I was 19/22 on green lights this morning!

Yeah... I've seen this commercial many times. I understand that workplace safety is a big deal, but this ad is taking it way too far.

WSS - there's a whole series of ads like that running right now. All of them are pretty shocking. There is a discussion about it in a Toronto blog, here:

I understand what they are trying to do, but jeez! They are apparently showing these during Hockey Night in Canada broadcasts. Surely there must be more than a few kids watching. If my son saw that, he'd probably have nightmares for a month.

Yeah, it's pretty extreme. I wouldn't have as much of a problem with the campaign if it was only played during shows/times that children wouldn't be watching.

The Soccer for Dummies should be for Steve MacLaren.

The David Beckham picture is quite an old one as it has him actually on his feet rather than on the bench collecting splinters

That was taken just before he did his ankle again.
