I'm off to work!

My boss is an ass.

I work at a Statoil station, but there's no gas (weird, I know) - it's a car rental/car wash mainly, but also a post office (the biggest in Sweden-that is, with the most households) and cornershop. It's varied, which is nice, but sometimes I work 10 hours+ and the boss WON'T LET US HAVE A CHAIR, BECAUSE HE THINKS WE WOULDN'T WORK HARD ENOUGH!!!!

I've had three days off now, and have hardly stood up once.

It's one o'clock at night over here, I'll be opening up at work in about 5 hours, so I should leave this machine alone...because the Family Guy rerun is on in ten minutes! I'll sleep when I'm dead.

(Yesterday was the episode where Chris thinks he's fat and Peter tries to embarass him by the pool. Ellen & I still laughed twenty minutes after the show ended.)

And here in the U.S. we're told that Sweden is some kind of socialist workers' paradise. :?

It is sorta socialist, but my boss isn't. And there are chairs in the lunch room, and we do get 30 minutes off in those ten hours...The money is good, though.

Only one hour to The Family Guy. Amazing how we have the DVDs and still look forward to seeing it on TBS and Cartoon Network. It is one funny show.

Now my new boss (who is not the mean lady) haggled them down to one month and a promise to never ever make me work for the mean lady ever again. Of course, she's retiring in two months, but it's a nice gesture.

Dr. Spooky - You're over thirty, right? For some reason, nearly every under 30 I guy I meet loves that show. I just don't get it. Not at all. Perhaps you could be an interloketer and translate for me....

Which reminds me, I've got all these movies, mostly musicals for "research" (not sure why I'm quoting that, I really am working, finally, working on the book thing), DVR'd from TCM and Fox Movies...I generally have this problem where I've already seen most of the good ones, so that leaves the notable mediocre ones. Don't even get me started on "South Pacific"...and I'm not looking terribly forward to "The Dolly Sisters."

Also, "Oliver" kind of stank more than I remembered (though it did provide the template for Monty Python's genius parody of its bloated production numbers with the "Every Sperm is Sacred" segment of "The Meaning of Life").

Please sir, I don't want anymore.

Ditto on the condolences, MBA...:( at least you are a fan of wigs!! And I'll bet it doesn't look as bad as all that. Stay away from large, square-rimmed glasses (and greasy guys named Schneider) and you should be okay. :? XO

Wow, Mike Boom, you're getting married. And I didn't even know you were dating anyone! Hope you've known her longer than two weeks!

Congratulations...

And, Ms. B.A., looks pretty nice to me. Just be glad you've got hair to get badly cut!
