I'm off to work!

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

I just drove through a terrible thunderstorm and even worse Nashville traffic. But I'm safe and warm and dry at work.

I'll be burning some classical music compilations after our 10 am production meeting.

Contemplating the leftover pasta from last night for lunch soon.
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

Dabbled in prop comedy until I was appropriately shamed by David Cross for trivializing the art of standup.

I take multivitamins twice a day. I even have a GNC membership. I don't get ill nearly as often when I take them.

Faced an interesting little conundrum today. As I left my station to go clock out for lunch, I was repeatedly stopped by customers asking me where the W2 forms were, did I have any Cross pen refills in stock, does true love exist.....shit like that. Well, it took me ten minutes to clear through these people to get to the back and clock out. It was obvious that I would be facing the same situation as I walked across the store again to leave and go get something to eat. At this point, I was kicking myself for not bringing a spare t-shirt to change into so I could pass through unmolested. That is when I noticed one of my coworkers' had left his John Mellencamp t-shirt, which would fit me, hanging up in the breakroom. Which would it be; preserve my anonymity by wearing this t-shirt or keep my uniform on and get stopped on my lunch break by soccer moms and slightly shady looking county school teachers? Faced with a hard decision, I chose *not* to disguise myself as someone with shitty taste in music and instead took my chances dodging the herd. That says something about me.....not quite sure what. But something!

what's wrong with soccer moms?

when I was waiting tables and living in Gatlinburg, I used to walk to work. it was ok at 6 am, but at 2:30, I was accosted at every step by tourons wanting to know how to get to the Space Needle and Where did Lincoln give his Gatlinburg Address? My face already hurt from smiling all day at my customers.

I tend to see them at their most venal. The customer service industry cannot help but shine a dim, muddy light on middle america, I'm afraid.

I take Trader Darwin's ("For survival of the fittest") Men's Formula, two of them, once a deal with a meal. No evidence I am becoming a better man as a result.

I even took a probiotic with them, to help me actually digest the vitimins. Just finished the bottle and still no evidence of being more of a mensch. Perhaps I should chuck it all and take the Trader Joe's "Spineless Wimps" formula.
