new elvis on the radio...

Post by firebetty »

so i was driving today and the dj said that they were gonna play a new elvis song. i made it to my destination before it came on- so i missed it.
but what up? has the 1st single been released? and what is it?
i am ultra slow these days so forgive if this has already been discussed.
anyone else in boston hear this (on lame, yet functional 92.9)?

Why didn't you just keep driving until Elvis came on?

Ther are probably a few of us on the board that would put our jobs, relationships and savings accounts in jeopardy in order to hear which new song was about to receive RADIO F. . . . .G AIRPLAY!!!!

Shame on you, firebetty!

Oh, by the way, the 1st "single" (whatever that means these days) from The Delivery Man is slated to be Monkey To Man.

I wonder what kind of station it was on. Public/college radio? Or, seeing as Firebetty resides in a parrellel plane, perhaps it was an "adult contemporary" station or a top 40 station right after the latest from MaBritney Aguilera or whomever.

I keep hearing about Monkey To Man getting radio play. This song should have leaked long ago.

If you enter "Monkey To Man" + Elvis Costello into google, you will come up with a few US radio stations that put this song on their playlist.
Examples :
- WDET 101.9 FM - Detroit Public Radio - Playlist
... Artist, Song, Album, Label, Release. Elvis Costello (50th birthday tribute), Monkey to Man, The Delivery Man, Lost Highway, New Release.

- 90.9 The Bridge -- KTBG
... Best Day (2003, V2). 3:18 AM. Elvis Costello - "Monkey to Man" from the album The Delivery Man (2004, Lost Highway). 3:24 AM. Norah...

- KCRW PLAYLIST for 8/25/04
... Elvis Costello, Monkey To Man, The Delivery Man Lost Highway. Skalpel, Quiz (fill), Skalpel Ninja Tune. 10:27, Los Lobos, Jockey Full Of Bourbon, Ride This Hollywood .

I find it so odd that WBOS is the Boston station to pick up his new stuff in this market. I'd listen for it but it's not worth hearing Los Lonely Boys 10 times an hour...

shame. shame. shame it was. but real life interject and ejected me out of the car.
WBOS is a lame-o station - it is an "adult alt" clear channel bogus station that does support ECO's shows here. I believe he dedicated Radio Radio to them and said something along the lines of "Some people say their your friends, but really their just people you know." before he viscerated.

sorry i have no other info peeps.
