Harold Lloyd, one of the great comedic actors of the silent film era, got his start in the movie biz playing a second-tier knockoff of Chaplin's immortal Little Tramp. What was the name of that character?
That would be Lonesome Luke, with tight pants instead of baggy ones. This was Lloyd's first recognizable onscreen persona. Of course, since it was the silent era, he had actually already made a dozen or so films, mostly bit parts. Great physical comedian, in spite of the knock off that Lonesome Luke clearly was.
Buster Keaton is still the best.

This film, about the hunt for a man carrying the plague, takes place in New Orleans (although it was somehow criminally neglected from the list of New Orleans films in Being There {the Blue Chair and Red Shoes webzine}). It also shares it's title with that of a Smiths song. Name the film and the stars and especially the name of the actor carrying the plague (a different first name than he has used through his career).

Everyone just needs to fuckin’ relax. Smoke more weed, the world is ending.
Pretty sure I know this one. But I will let someone else take a crack at it. If there's no correct response by tomorrow, I'll post what I think the answer is.

Probably off by a million miles here, but there was a TV movie in the 70s that I never saw with a title that was a little like "The Mephisto Bug"...no clue if it took place in NO or not. As far as the actor, I'm guessing Allan Garfield/Goorwitz, who never could decide on a last name.
