Booker T And the MGs

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Booker T And the MGs

Post by wehitandrun »

Are there any Booker T and the MGs fans on the board? I have heard a few tracks from different Stax compilations. I love the music, is it all instrumental?

I'm a HUGE Booker T and the MG's fan!!!

Everything I've heard has been instrumental. They backed all the Stax artists too, most notably Otis Redding.

Yeah, Booker T & The MG's are great. Mostly instrumental, though they occasionally featured guest vocalists on their later albums.

They're still around in some capacity.. they backed Neil Young on his 1993 tour.

whar, do you listen to jonathan richman (with or without the moder lovers)?
you can hear a lot of their guitar and organ in his mid to current stuff.
plus, if you want to hear a song that refrences the Stop and Shop, Roadrunner is your tune.
cottton-poly blends are an abomination
