Things that make you go "mmmmmm"

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Hands up! Not my car. But a good photo nonetheless by the abovementioned fjp.

Look, I have no complaints what with my job and roof-over-head and health and friends and so on and so on... but I just feel fuelled by ennui at the moment. And I'm also acutely aware that that sounds like a 21st century complaint made by people with no real problems. So I can't win. This emoticon will lighten the mood and explain the situation:

going to sleep when i just can't stay up playing poker any longer

the sun coming through the leaves

the sun coming through the ice on branches (maybe that is more of an oooooo)

the sound of palm tress-balmy breezes

hips, grabbing or biting hips

sand running thru my toes on ravine drive beach of lake michigan- very late at night, this would of course would be after a swim of the skinny sort

the way my babies smile at me when they wake up

the way my girl's eyelashes curl at the outter edges as she is sleeping

How very lovely, FB.

Thank you Dr J.

"is Dr. J really a doctor?
Yes - he works in Accident and Emergency in a Dublin Hospital. Try and find him."

OK, I will. There aren't that many hospitals in Dublin. I admire anyone who can work in A & E. I come from a long line of docs and nurses, but am hopelessly squeamish.

Ennui? Sounds like Jonathan Ross discussing the Arsenal attack. Time to do something to banish it. A special trip. A love affair. Enlightenment. Something.

I agree, but sometimes you have to wait for these things to happen...

... and the search for DrJ gets closer and closer....

Aaawww, thanks double dutchess. I always enjoy your email! :)

I really love this board so much. :)

Other things I enjoy:

- when my husband starts to kiss me just after he's had a beer. I think it reminds me of college.

- when my kids pay me an unsolicited compliment.

- when I listen to an Elvis song for the 1,000,000th time and suddenly understand something new from the lyrics that I've never heard before.

- coffee when I first wake up

- wine in the evening

- coming home from vacation and realizing that I'm really glad to just be home again.

-hitchhiking, getting a ride from someone who steers with his elbows because he has to keep relighting his joint
-meeting someone from the Internet for the first time at two am in the back of a taxi
-sharing a hotel room with a guy you met in the lobby because only double rooms are available and neither of you have reservations
-doing drugs in a city you don't know

That's the other mmmmmm, the one that goes, "mmmmmm, in retrospect that wasn't a very good idea, I hope my kids never do stupid shit like that."
