FFS they don't make it easy to contact them - if anyone can work out how we can contact BBC4 with this suggestion, please post it. They say they want comments, but every link I think I may use tends to be a FAQ page.
One of the board members works for the BBC. I'll find out who we should contact.

According to the BBC Four website, the controller of the channel is one Richard Klein:

"Richard Klein became the channel Controller on 15 December 2008. Richard joined the BBC in 1996 as a series producer, advancing to the Commissioning Editor for Documentaries in March 2005. Since December 2007, Richard was the BBC's Head of Independent Commissioning, Knowledge."

More here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/aboutthebbc/runnin ... lein.shtml

For his e-mail try: DLRKlein&Assist@bbc.co.uk or failing that Richard.Klein@bbc.co.uk

For good measure, we might also contact the head of Entertainment commissioning, Mark Linsey, whose e-mail is:

DLMLinsey&Assist@bbc.co.uk

and Mark Cooper, who is the Executive Producer of "Later with Jools Holland", and the BBC's Glastonbury TV Coverage.

Mark.Cooper@bbc.co.uk

Yes it was it was first broadcast around Christmas (08 or 09 not exactly sure) on Channel 4 around midnight or later. Not the ideal time to gain an audience.

Ulster Boy notes elsewhere -

Short interview about football (Liverpool FC) in April/May 2011 edition of Sky Sports magazine; and longer interview in April 2011 Sky magazine trailing broadcast of Spectacle from 12-4-11 on Sky Arts1 HD

Haven't time right now to check this out further - interesting news.

This indicates it's stuff from the first season -

... as mentioned above, in UK Sky Arts from Wed. 13th seem to be doing Smokey R. Spectacle at 9 p.m., and the following night the Renee F. show - seems as if they'll all be the Series 1 Spectacles we've seen in UK on Channel 4 TV 2008-2009 ...

Will check out prog. listings each week, in case they slip in a previously unseen in UK Spectacle series 2 show.

Sky advertised the series on Friday night and showed clips of U2 and Bruce so maybe they are going to show either the two series or the best of them

Would Sky Arts have the rights to series 2 as well?

Maybe they'll show series 1 in one session and then show series 2 on a weekly basis.

The clips have definitely shown Bruce Springsteen and U2 from
series 2.

You could not be more correct in your estimation. In two years of viewing the program that was a superb example of one of those magical moments when a complacent viewership is knocked out of the comfort of their usual listening habits. If it were deemed he accomplished nothing in his two years of programming he definitely opened a wider audience to this deserving, but previously neglected, artist. Just look at the audience! It was magical then; it remains magical now.
