A few years ago EC said that he had to pay Leonard Bernstein for using a musical line from America in Button my LIp. I wonder if the Archies will be looking for their royalties for the line in From Sulphur to Sugarcane?

No-one responded to my Archies reference, but "Pour a Little Sugar on me.." is one of the fade out lines from their 1969 smash hit. Am I the only one old enough to remember? Or the only one sad enought to know the lyrics?

No, I am also sufficiently old & sad. Initially I thought of that insipid song by Def Leppard and was surprised Elvis would bother to quote a band so far beneath him. But then I remembered The Archies--quoting them is pretty cool.

Yep - from Sugar,Sugar. It's towards the close of Sulphur to Sugarcane.
