I'M GOING! Got my ticket yesterday morning when I should have been working - I'm sorry but EC gigs are far more important! :P
I got front row stalls in the exact same seat I had last year for the spinning songbook, funnily enough. Good view!
The official RAH website seem to offer cheaper booking fees than Ticketmaster and they also drop seats regularly, so keep checking and you might land yourself a decent seat!

I've finally succumbed and got a front row stalls on the side about 10 seats from the stage! With no gig since the summer I can't wait to see the great man again!
Even just watching those old snippets on "Anarchy in Manchester" have really got the juices flowing !
Who else is going ?

From reading the previous page there are quite a few of us going:

Goon squad
VG
Sulky lad
Harry Worth
John Anderson
FrankieJ

and a few others who have posted but I'm not sure if they're going.

MOOT - are you going?

Shall we arrange the traditional The Goat pub meet up? Say 6pm?

If anybody wants to meet up who hasn't met me/us before, PM me and I'll give you my mobile details.

With this being Blues Fest, could there ever be a better occasion to play Eisenhower Blues?

I'm front row stalls that close to the stage too! Maybe about 9 seats from the stage. We might be neighbours. :)

Getting very excited about this now. I'm hoping Georgie Fame does a short-ish set and Elvis stays on for at least an hour and a half or two. They might play a few songs together. My last EC gig was at Kew and the show was short, so it would be nice for a longer one. Unlikely, though.

Unfortunately Sulky Lad can't make it due to illness. It must have been that trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower last week...

Does anybody want to buy his ticket? It's in the Stalls, Row H.

The good/bad news is that you'll be sat next to me.

Please PM me if you are interested.

Alas, there's never a good time to play Eisenhower Blues. Elvis's worst recording! But I'll let him off...

Steve Nieve's partner Muriel has posted on f/book that they will be ' at the RAH', meaning, perhaps, that Steve will be part of Elvis's show.

No problem with that 8)

I'll be at the Goat by 6pm. It'll only be a swift pint for me as I'm pleased to say I've sold sulky lad's ticket.

Elvis wrote about Georgie Fame in 1999

(extract)

Georgie was the first person to commission me to write a song for him. I had one knocking about called "That's What Friends Are For," which was a little bit too swingy for me so I adapted it for him. I'm glad he cut it but I'm sorry I didn't write him a better song. He'd do a great version of "Almost Blue."

What's the chance that Elvis gives this song a debut airing tomorrow?

Here's a mp3 of Elvis' demo

Maybe someone could flip this over to youtube for easier access?

Enjoy the show everyone who is going. Sorry I cant make it due to
1. Mrs Sheep having one of her unemployed sessions
2. the fact we taken some rebuilding works on at home.
3. Plus I have no annual leave left and there's no way I can get back to Southend after the show and back to London for 7 the next morning. Getting too old for that caper.

Hope me and Mrs Sheep will see some of you next month.

It's happened again - wasn't going to go cos of cost and already saw Elvis this summer, but have been unable to resist a lucky offer! I don't know if I'll be able to make The Goat, so if I don't see you - have a great night, all!

Great. Hope to see you there. :D

Of more importance, will the show be audience recorded or do we need someone to hack into the BBC? A job for Dr Spooky

If only - but though I am feeling better than the previous 2 days by a margin , Mrs . Sulky has banned me from thinking about a late train and an overnight in London - so someone had better record this

I can't believe you're taking notice of what Mrs Sulky says on an Elvis related matter.

If you need a second opinion (as you seem to do these days  ) I will sign you off as fit for travel and to attend the show. I don't know where you'll get a ticket though now that I've sold yours!!!

RAH's official website still have a few seats left. DO IT DO IT DO IT. One of us! One of us! :P

I'm leaving work for London shortly. I cannot wait. Walking to RAH in the peeing rain won't be much fun, though. I wonder if there will be any merch - not that I need another EC t-shirt!
