Tower of Song

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

it's fun to hate. i've been enjoying it alot this week.

hopefully next week will be even better. bwaaahahahaaaaa!

That's kind of a random comment, considering Squeeze isn't even on the tower right now. It would also make you an oddity among Elvis fans to not like Squeeze, but that's your decision to make (and keep private). :P
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

J Monk, I can't resist putting in another FP tune since they don't get (and never have got) more credit -- an absolute corker. Soren Nielsen would be hailed a legend if he wasn't so overweight and could handle more touring. Luckily I saw them in a Melbourne club in '97. Yep, blew the roof off the joint.

[quote="El Vez"]Cos - I thought Montgomery Gentry and Shania Twain were the king & queen!

Ha, that's funny!! I actually have a Montgomery Gentry autographed guitar. A Sony rep gave it to me when I worked at the record store...... one of the perks for positioning the Sony product where they want it and playing their cds in the store. I've tried hard to rub that MG autograph off, but it's in perm marker. :x

BBN

Great choice. I hated 'All the way to Arnhem' when it was first released, but gradually got into it. 'Remember When I was Nothing' brought the house down at Basingstoke last year.

Have you managed to get anything from their Electronic years. Never appealed to me much. Bit too Kraftwerk for my liking.

I wonder if Fopp have got any cheapie FPs on the go. Maybe BBN or JM could give us a listing of their personal top 5s.

Saw a lovely bit of a Prince solo acoustic concert yesterday, recorded recently, I think. Just him looking cool with a lovely purple acoustic. Great opportunity to see what a master of the guitar he is. He did a snippet of the song below, sadly only a snippet, it was divine.

Out: Kinks
In: The Purple One

Specials - Do Nothing
Fumbled Priest - Remember When I Was Nothing
Prince - Sometimes It Snows In April
Eels - Novocaine for the Soul
Tom Waits - Time
Talking Heads - Once In A Lifetime
Richard Hell - Love Comes in Spurts
The Byrds - 5D
