Top 10 Nick Cave songs

Following on from the David Bowie thread and since Nick Cave is easily also one of my favourite songwriters, I figured fellow Costello fans would like Nick Cave, as well as David Bowie.

Anyway, the point of this thread is, what are your top 10 Nick Cave tunes? I have to catch a bus in about 5 minutes, so I'll have to answer later myself

Either Cave has few fans here or he's got too many good songs in his catalogue.

Anyway, I have to admit I haven't listened to some of Nick's albums (Abbatoir Blues, No More Shall We Part, Nocturama) for some time now so my top 10 might be missing some of the latest stuff. Here it is :

I'm a big Nick Cave fan, but haven't been listening to him a lot lately. "People Ain't No Good" and "Red Right Hand" will be in there somewhere. Also "Nature Boy" and "Breathless" I suspect. Can we include covers?

I would definitely throw in Shivers from his Boys Next Door days - and it would have to be in his top three.

Tuepelo and Saint Huck would be in there somewhere as well.

I often prefer Nick Cave as an interpreter of other people's songs than the ones he writes. Although when his sentimental side shows through in his own music it seems to help.
Then of course there is Release The Bats, the finest moment from the overrated Birthday Party.

Well, it is a pretty mean thread. I mean, the guy's just been so consistent with his back catalogue that it's hard to choose. Anyway, it's time I had a go. In no order, and keeping it to one per album;

Anyone heard Grinderman btw? Haven't been brought sharply up to date with the world of Nick Cave by a previous poster I've heard their song on myspace. It's actually not that bad, dare I say it

I mostly know Nick through covers/soundtracks, etc., but I have been obsessed with Murder Ballads since the day it came out. I still play that one very consistently, so my top ten would probably have to correspond with that album.

His cover of Helpless is very good. I got to know People Ain't No Good through the Lloyd Cole cover. Some poxy reviewer said it showed up the inadequacies of Cole's own songwriting elsewhere on the record, which was total bollocks, but yes, a great song. Cave is working on a new record right now, I read.
