So what was going on in your life? There's almost nothing I can bear to listen to by them, not that I have that as an option, so I'm happy to not realise what was going on in Paul's.

I'm playing Katie Melua. Yes, indeed. My wife is keen, and I wanted to hear what she did to the Cure's gorgeous Just Like Heaven. Well, it was pretty predictable. Yawwwn. Nice photos all over the booklet, mind.

Foo Fighters - In Your Honor. It's like they've made two 40 minute albums, the first sounds like a pretty good regular Foo Fighters album, it would have been enough. The second, is Grohl playing acoustic, mostly mellow stuff - about half the songs seem like works in progress, Grohl bursts of inspiration that he might polish later but that still draw you in. Although Disc 2 might not hold up as well after a few more listens, Disc 1 should. Fave songs: Disc 1: Resolve, No Way Back, Free Me; Disc 2: What If I Do, Friend Of A Friend, Cold Day In The Sun

I own most of Pink Floyds album. But while I no longer listen to most of them frequently, this is a favourite album of mine. Supposed to be a collection of The Wall-leftovers I think this is much better than The Wall itself. I also love Roger Waters solo album Amused To Death.

I've not heard that much Prince, I own Purple Rain and Around The World... on CD and recently got used vinyl copies of Sign... & 1999. Listening to 1999 as is rather obvious. This track is so awesome

Paul Kelly & The Stormwater Boys - Foggy Highway

It ranges from plaintive solo performances by Paul Kelly to full band bluegrass jamming. Most of it sounds like a mix of folk and country though. It sounds great - banjo, fiddle, accordion... Features a Louvin Bros cover with Kasey Chambers, You're Learning. And on the 4 song bonus disc I got, Rank Stranger (Albert E Brumley) which Bob Dylan also covered. I'm listening to this in anticipation of hearing Bruce Springsteen's new The Seeger Sessions album.
