Albums you are embarrassed to have in your collection

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Albums you are embarrassed to have in your collection

I'll start...

Don't know what we were thinking. There are two Tori Amos albums occupying valuable space on my CD rack as well, but I had nothing to do with that.

Too many hard rock and metal records to list. I don't mind the good albums, but there are few of them and even those I don't listen to very often.

Also, with some artists, I have almost all their albums. It always feels a bit unnecessary a while afterwards.

I had that one, WSS... I seem to have eradicated most of my embarrasing CDs, but here's one I still have:

Isn't that album considered a classic though?

I only wanted records for christmas in '83 & '84 so my aunt asked my mom what I liked & thinking of the posters on my wall (Priest, Kiss, Whitesnake) she replied "those longhaired types" & this is what I got:

I must admit I took advantage of those little girls' fondness for Careless Whisper, though, so it was a pretty good gift after all.

The Crash Test Dummies . . .

You know, I think they opened for Elvis when he played Chicago on the Brutal Youth tour. I remember humming the tune "This Is Hell" while waiting for them to finish.

Not one of these is as embarrassing as some of the stuff I have in my collection. Y'all are lightweights in the world of embarrassing music.

That song was playing everywhere I went in London when I was there in December. Just awful.

I am so glad to admit that out of my 1600 CDs, not one is a clunker. Solid gold, all of it.

I like that Crash Test Dummies album, and I thought they did a fabulous job opening for EC on the Brutal Youth tour. I also like their previous record, The Ghosts that Haunt Me. It contains "Superman's Song," which is one of my favorite 90's songs.

For me the worst is:

I take solace in the fact that after Cosmic Thing, it wasn't unreasonable to assume the B-52's would make another good record (however wrong I turned out to be). I also should point out that the only reason I still have it is that no used CD store will buy it from me.

Make It Big is a fabulous album, with the exception of "Like A Baby." Not only did I make sure to upload it onto my computer before heading out (I think all George Michael's solo stuff may have gotten sold at the merciless pre-move yard sale), but I just played it last week and my roommate and I sang along to *every word*. Favorite line: "And now you tell me that you're having my baby/ I'll tell you that I'm happy if you want me to."

I saw EC twice on this tour and found the Dummies (with their rehearsed patter- same each night, word for word- and complete lack of rock) to be excruciating. Actually kind of liked them until the live experience.

Maybe twice in a row would have been bad. But I loved them that one day.
