I DID learn to write in lovely script, but haven't used it in so long my 'cursive' now looks like a rather simple 4 year old's.

You guys say 'cursive' for 'joined-up'? In Spanish and other languages it = italic (it's always struck me as odd that the Latin-derived languages don't say 'italic'!). And cursive sounds like it should mean 'very rude'.

It always sounded weird to me, but it makes sense it the sense of 'running'.
The funny thing about never having learned to write proper cursive is, as my printing (=separate upright letters) got faster and faster, it devolved into something very like standard cursive all on its own. So that although letters like the cursive 's' and 'x' seemed like ciphers to me when I learned them as a kid, I now understand exactly how they developed. If that makes any sense at all... :)

My cursive script has gotten worse over the years but that's because I still have to hand write a lot. Indeed my scrawl is quite bad when I write quickly but my Secretaries are pretty familiar with the squiggles on the piece of paper. When my previous Secretary started I wrote out a sheet with what my squiggles looked like and what word it represented. Funnily enough she got used to it pretty quickly.

For letters I prefer to hand write rather than read them back off the screen. My writing style is a lot better than the dodgy way I speak.

:? You mean you've never had sex with a person of the same gender as yourself, or you've never had sex with a person of the same gender as the prior person with whom you enjoyed conjugal relations, i.e., following a pattern of boy-girl-boy-girl or girl-boy-girl-boy as the case may be? I kind of like the second version, as it's extremely democratic.
1. I dont have a fucking clue why being bisexual is democratic
2. I wouldn't even think about going out with a boy, much less a man...unless i was really, really high on some wonderful drug.
3. And yes, I meant not having sex with another person of the same gender as myself

Oh I am in love with love as well, just not romantically with another man.

I never changed channels after accidentally stumbling onto the Seventh Heaven show until the episode was over. It's unbelievably funny without trying to be.

For those of you who understand French, I remember one. It's about Snow White :

"Blanche Fesses et les sept mains" (the original was "Blanche Neige et les sept nains")... Ha ha... Stupid.

Absinthe was very trendy at the end of the 19th century, but it has been prohibited for a long time.

You don't miss out on any valuable trip. Some great poets were fascinated by it, but it never helped them. The stuff was bitter and very toxic, it only had a stupefying effect on drinkers and destroyed their brains.

In case you'd think of opium as a replacement (less dangerous and still available here and there) : it sucks !!!

Modern absinthe is quite nice, if you like anisette or Pastisse-type drinks. I'm a big fan of Ricard, and I dig a good absinthe. But the wormwood that made it dangerous has been reduced to negligible amounts. You're only missing out if you like that type of drink. If licorice flavors don't do it for you, you're not missing anything.

I got pretty well hammered on it in Madrid in '86, and I like to think there was more wormwood there than the EU would now allow, but ain't sure.

Spanish absinthe is a whole different story. I had some Spanish absinthe in Rome once, and I'm pretty confident the worwood levels were higher than they were supposed to be. I must go to Spain...

I've never been to Spain.

They say Spain is pretty though I've never been.

My buddy Daniel says it's the best place he's ever seen. And he should know - he's been there enough.
