More importantly what about dates for a tour!
Who’s this kid with his mumbo jumbo?
Re: Elvis on BBC Sounds, November 11, 2021
So Elvis is in town in November. I think we would've been told about a gig by now, so I don't think there's going to be one this side of Christmas. Too late. Something's surely brewing, though!
Re: Elvis on BBC Sounds, November 11, 2021
Nov 11th he is busy with a gig in San Diego. I doubt he will be in London.

Nothing gets past this guy. Thanks, KRM! x
Re: Elvis on BBC Sounds, November 11, 2021
On the other hand, as we know he is playing in San Diego on the 11th and playing the RAH on the 18th, we can probably say with some confidence that he will be flying to London at some point between the 12th and the 17th.

I listened again and the radiohost said that there will be “live music” from Elvis Costello on November 11.
He didn’t say that Elvis would be live in the studio.
Maybe it is pre-recorded?

I don't suppose there's any chance they're going to try and livestream from San Diego? People more technically aware than I am can probably explain why that's not possible .sweetest punch wrote:I listened again and the radiohost said that there will be “live music” from Elvis Costello on November 11.

Re: Elvis on BBC Sounds, November 11, 2021
The main problem would be that the UK is 8 hours ahead of San Diego's time zone (US Pacific) so 8PM in San Diego would be 4AM (the next day) in the UK. So unlikely that they would do an actual live stream of an evening concert.Hawksmoor wrote:I don't suppose there's any chance they're going to try and livestream from San Diego? Maybe they’ll broadcast a few tunes from a recent show on this tour.
Or maybe Elvis will just sing into a phone himself for the spot.

You will recall that prior to the start of the "Hello Again" tour, Elvis and the Imposters, spent days in the Memphis Magnetic Recording studio, with Sebastian Krys, rehearsing for the tour.
Why would they need Sebastian, if not to record? Perhaps the "live" music to air on Ken Bruce's show will come from those Memphis Magnetic sessions?

Elvis Costello in session
Live music this morning comes from Elvis Costello who, ahead of a brand new album, will be performing his new single as well as one of his classics. Plus there's PopMaster at 1015

Most of his studio LPs of the last 20 years (and particularly the Imposters ones) get followed up with a 'grab bag' EP or mini-LP of out-takes, alternative takes, live versions, or miscellaneous sundries - Cruel Smile, The Clarksdale Sessions, the National Ransack EP, the Purse EP, the French-language Clockface EP, Wise Up Thought and so on. Maybe he's laying down a few tracks for that, as and when he gets the opportunity.Man out of Time wrote:You will recall that prior to the start of the "Hello Again" tour, Elvis and the Imposters, spent days in the Memphis Magnetic Recording studio, with Sebastian Krys, rehearsing for the tour.

On with The Imposters so I guess they are via zoom etc
Re: Live music from Elvis on BBC Sounds, November 11, 2021
From the BBC web site:
"Live music this morning comes from Elvis Costello who, ahead of a brand new album, will be performing his new single as well as one of his classics.
Currently on his 'Hello Again' tour in America, in January Elvis releases - alongside The Imposters - ‘The Boy Named If,’ his 32nd studio album, which is preceded with the release of new single “Magnificent Hurt.”
Since being forced to cut short a U.K. tour, Elvis has released the album, ‘Hey Clockface’ and the subsequent French language E.P., ‘La Face de Pendule à Coucou’ - featuring the voices of Iggy Pop and Isabelle Adjani.
In the last twelve months, he has also completed “How To Play Guitar & Y," a comedic, “Words & Music” production, and released the lavish vinyl box-set edition of the 1979 album, “Armed Forces”. "
