Heatwave (1980) Show Now Up on Wolfgang's Vault

The only show that EC and the Attractions did in North America. Includes early versions of the "Trust" songs.

I think your post is missing some words. I am pretty sure that EC and the Attractions did other shows in North America.

The post does not say "only show in 1980." It just says "only show."

The words I thought were missing were "in 1980" or something like that.

Do you mean to say you didn't go in 1980, BA  !!
I missed out in 1980 too, now that UK tour would have been a magnificent one to follow - I just wish there were more shows circulating from then :(

How did WV get the rights to sell the flacs for this show which is a soundboard and not a King Biscuit broadcast? I think his management should investigate.

Wolfgang's charging for this?

In my book, there's a difference between bootlegs and piracy --- and wolfgang belongs to the latter category.

I don't know... but if you do buy it, use the code FABWV for 10% off.

I agree.

Meanwhile, this show has been freely available for years in a variety of formats - steaming, MP3, etc. Just some of the links I found with a quick googling:

1.) Stream it on Sugarmegs.org (search "costello 1980 heatwave" or click this direct link to the .asx file )

2.) MP3 & FLAC blogs:

CBC Pre-FM reel-to-reel tapes went up on ebay today:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELVIS-COSTELLO- ... 1188575594
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELVIS-COSTELLO- ... 1248687807

It would be great if EC snagged them, asserted ownership, and released the show on his website.

I dubbed the soundboard audio onto the VHS footage I have and uploaded it on YouTube. Kind of cool to watch, actually. It also made me think of that song by the immortal band Styx - "Too Much Time On My Hands"...

The audio on these videos is great, much better than on the boot I have - where's it from?

Fantastic! The drum sound really comes through great. I especially like Secondary Modern and You'll Never be a Man!
