Need some help finding a lyric

So I was talking to my GF about Frank Turner's song "Worst Things Happened At Sea", and I was explaining how the Toy Dolls and EC have lyrics containing the same sentence since it's an English expression. So today I wanted to let her hear both songs and I can't find the EC one I was talking about.

I have turned my whole EC collection inside out, I've searched the net on every possible variation, and it's turned up nothing.

I thought I knew what album it was on. I've got the melody in my head, I've got the way it's sung. Please tell me I'm not crazy.

There has to be an EC song where he sings something like: "Worse/Strange things happened at sea".

Can anyone help me out of my suffering?

No, in my mind, it's a very quiet song. I thought it was on Punch the Clock, but I am clearly wrong.
The sentence should be the last one of the chorus, I think
