Pat Boone it is - tsk,tsk - I made it too easy!
Back in 1968 Pat tried to `get with the kids` and released this album. Ry Cooder devotees have to get it 'cos he does some session work on it ; he doesn`t play on the Buckley track. Tim debuted the song on a Monkees show ( that performance ends his recent 2 disc 'best of') in 1967 ; his studio version didn't appear until his Starsailor album in 1970.
Boone's version is awful - they even have the sound of a ship's horn at the start.
Next question!

My first thought was Eno, so I'll take a random wild guess - Aimee Mann. Imagine that!

Our new chum from Kalisz is spot on. Heard Stuart Maconie mention this last night, and recalled hearing it before. Amusingly incongruous.

Pete Thomas did some work on the endless sessions for that album that Mike and co. recorded in Ireland ; the albums name eludes me at the moment.

Yep, he played snare drums on "Old England", a song from The Waterboys' "This Is The Sea" album.
Your turn, John.

Point of detail: John appears to be referring to Fisherman's Blues (great record), rather than This Is The Sea. Or was that also recorded during endless sessions in Ireland? FB was in a house in Spiddal near Galway.

Yep , I got the wrong album , sorry. However since the question has been answered lets keep going with this -
Elvis was supposed to do a guest vocal on Shaken and Stirred: The David Arnold James Bond Project but couldn't find the time. Which 1960's Bond theme was he supposed to do ?
