Angels fan myself, but their world championship two seasons ago is enough to last me a lifetime! Also follow the Cubbies, the Mariners, and the Yanks to a lesser extent.

I'm not a huge fan, but I try to attend at least a couple of games each season. And naturally, I root for the hometeam to a degree.

We may not be the best team in baseball, but we have the best pitcher in the American League, last year's Cy Young award winner Roy Halladay. Hopefully he can prove himself as a consistant force this season.

I'm hoping one of these days we'll make it to the playoffs again.

The only sport I care a little about is baseball, and I don't care too much about it. But I'm always going to be an Orioles fan. I was 10 when they won the world series in1983, and I got a ball autographed by the team. All of them. My autographed Cal Ripken, Jr. card from that year hangs on the wall over my son's crib, right next to the Beatles at the Paladium poster. I'll root for the O's until the day I die, and the rest can rot. Especially the Yankees.

I know I will catch a lot of crap for this but I am a huge Braves fan. Now I know they have their own TV station and I know there are Braves fans crawling out of the woodwork all over the country, BUT, I grew up in Georgia and started watching the Braves in the early 70's. Hank Aaron was still playing. If you look back you will see that they were in last place or close to it almost every year. They had one good season in the early 80's but that was it until 1991.

So anyway, I LOVE baseball and the Braves and cannot wait for the season to get rolling.

Cubs fan. And am cringing that they have been saddled with much favoritism this year. Much more used to them surprising all & sundry with a few good early months & then letting everyone down.

This year they have a lot to live up to & will be interesting to see how well they cope with the pressure.

I believe that the Cubs/Red Sox World Series that ESPN.com and the Boston Globe are predicting is a sure sign of impending Armageddon.

If so, can we start a petition for "Waiting for the End of the World" for the postseason "Baseball Tonight" theme music? Peter Gammons is pretty musically literate...

The Convincer is terrific! It has such a comfortable, relaxed feel to it. Good stuff. Now I need to get The Impossible Bird and Dig My Mood Do you have these? Any preference?

Who is your favorite MLS team? I feel guilty; I haven't actually been to a Galaxy game in a couple years. MLS needs all the support it can get. The standard of play has improved significantly since the league started. I'll have to make a trip to the Home Depot Center soon for a Galaxy game.

I went to Opening Day at Dodger Stadium yesterday. Terrible game, but a beautiful day at the ballpark! You're right, this is going to be a very long year for the Dodgers.

s_s, I have the Impossible Bird (excellent) but not Dig My Mood. I like the Earthquakes, but I'm watching that 14 y.o. too-I think he could bring a lot of much needed attention to the league.

Have all three of the more recent Nick Lowe albums -- Impossible Bird is probably the "best", but I love "Dig My Mood" too. The Convincer didn't really convince me, however.

And I like MOVIES about baseball. (The new Bernie Mac vehicle I saw a preview for last night, "Mr. 3000" looks fun.)

well that's right because you've got milton bradley now!

i'm the only person left on the planet who still believes adrian beltre is a potential superstar. probably due to the fact i saw him hit 2 balls in a row a country mile as a teenager playing A ball. he was a man, swagger and all, among boys at that time. i've only seen 3 minor leaguers, all happening to be teenagers and all at the A or lower A level at the time, who i came back and told fans "remember this name" and the other 2 were carlos delgado and vladimir guerrero. so beltre has to become a superstar so i can be right!
