Your Top 5, desert Island Elvis cds... lyrically

Post by wehitandrun »

Reading through the lyrics to Spike today, I've realized it is a word-masterpiece. It wouldn't make my top five Elvis albums, but it would definitly make the list if lyrics were the keyjudging. And it got me thinking how others would(despite it topping my last list).

Brutal Youth
Spike
When I Was Cruel
All This Useless Beauty
Imperial Bedroom

I feel like I'm betraying his early wordplay talent... but looking at that list I know it's no insult to include these lyrically-superior(imho) albums.

My list would be about the same as in the other thread.
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

I love lyrics....lyrics are very important to me

I'm terrible at order but:

Imperial Bedroom
King Of America
Blood and Chocolate
Spike
Taking Liberties (that counts right?)

These are the most evocative ones for me.

Jill (who loves different things about each one and could list all at the top!)

Yeah I'm terrible with the order too, I just threw them down.
Taking Liberties definitly counts, great choice.

King Of America! I almost forgot. But, Imperial Bedroom must keep its place on my list.

My List:
Imperial Bedroom
(Why doesn't he come home, why does her friend's phone keep on ringing.....Maybe she should just pretend)

Get Happy
(The chairman of the bordom is a compliment collector, I'd like to be his funeral director)

This Year's Model
(She's been a bad girl; She's like a chemical......and
You want to torture her; You want to talk to her)

Punch The Clock
(I wish you luck with a capital "F")

Spike
(Oh yes, I was a comical priest... with a joke for the flock and a hand up your fleece)

****
Just humming these lyrics to myself makes me glad to be alive (along with many other reasons of course)
