EC songs that make you move

Post by bambooneedle »

What songs make you drive fast if you're playing it in the car, or that you might use for aerobics, or that you use in your walkman if you run up hills, or otherwise make you move...

These come to mind right away:

Clubland ... it inspired the thread.

Beyond Belief. Sometimes this, my favorite EC song, seems too short but the build up during the strange song structure all the way up to the chorus is just great....great for acceleration.

Radio Radio. I've been a non-commercial radio for years now and this song always sums up what I feel about the airwaves. I'm completely in love with XM satellite radio now, where I get to hear no burger commercials and EC played semi-regularly on the alternative stations. And not just hits...album tracks as well. I'm happy to fork over 10 bucks a month to not listen to commercials and hear a hundred different songs in 30 different genres a day instead of the same 4 all day long.

How To Be Dumb. I know...not exactly a dancefloor burner. But I love to scream along to it. :)

What's So Funny 'Bout Peace Love and Understanding. No explanation needed, really!

45. "But the words are a mystery, I've heard/ 'til you turn it down to thirty-three and a third." I just love that lyric.

And if I keep typing I'll be here all day. :)

This Year's Model - Whole album - is a great piece of driving music. No Action is the best opener of any of his records.

Beyond Belief works by itself, but the rest of the album (while brilliant) is not all great driving music.

Trust is just about perfect, Clubland being an exceptional opener.

Pony Street is a great opener as well, and most of Brutal Youth lends itself to a good driving mood.

And I love listening to Taking Liberties in the car. Clean Money just absolutely rocks.

I tend to listen to whole albums when I drive, so it's hard for me to choose individual songs that work well in the car.

Trust just makes me want to dance, which can get embarrassing on the bus.

Pretty much anything from Trust.

It only took my little finger to blow you away.

"It's Time"

i've heard it maligned here before, but it's playing right now, and i realize, it causes my feet to bounce. and my pulse to quicken a smidge, and it makes me happy. in a sad kinda way, since it is a breakup song. :)

yeah, my toes are a'tappin.
