girl meets boy

Post by miss buenos aires »

Mean streak a mile wide, anyone could see
Attitude in how he dressed, slouched, worked, sat
She saw him. She said, “That man is for me,”
And no one could change her thinking on that.
Their courtship was strange: so torrid, so chaste
Waves of desire through the cubicle wall.
She imagined his scent, his touch, his taste
He skulked in his cell, dark, handsome, and tall.
Those five feet between them grew quick less wide
She cast her better judgment quick aside
Leaned in greedy for that fleeting first kiss
Now they lead a life like Mata Hari
Should office tongues wag, the two’ll be sorry
But for now, right now—oh, isn’t it bliss?

(in best Rickie Lee Jones' imitation) Miss B's in love, Miss B's in luh--uh--uv...
Like me, the "g" is silent.

So I take it no one has anything to say about the actual poem...Nothing nice, anyway.

you rhymed 'Mata Hari' and 'sorry'--that's inventive! And you don't strike me as someone who needs others to validate their work. You should write more. Poems, letters, etc.

MBA - There isn't a lot to say, it's the easy to read and open sort of poem that I like (I'dont want to think to hard!), it has a very 'nice' ending and it contains the word skulked, 'nice'.
signed with love and vicious kisses

Maybe if you solved the hussy mystery we would be more ready with praise. Really though the poem captures the intrigue and delicious suspense of your romance magnificently. Tin Pan alley is sure hopping!
