So there is one more gift exchange with Blue's family, but I'd say I did pretty well for myself:
Not too shabby. Also of note:
- An AeroGarden thing, so we can grow herbs inside year round. We just started it last night, so fingers crossed!
- An electric mattress pad.. I thought it was kind of silly when I first opened it, but it's awesome. It warms the bed up! And there are two controllers, so I can keep my side warmer than Blue's if I want. I always hated getting into a bed with cold sheets...
And perhaps the most exciting acquisition of the holiday season - our new cat, Mowgli! Here's Mowgli and his big sister Mingus in the back of the car on the 7-hour drive home yesterday. They were surprisingly well behaved:
Check! My dad got us a really nice one. Hopefully we can make the first batch this weekend.RedShoes wrote:- A yogurt maker. Blue and I like making stuff from scratch - and we buy so much yogurt I think we'd make good use out of it.
Check! Blue got me a whole slew of nice stuff. The boy's got great taste!RedShoes wrote:- I'd love some jewelry. Nothing fancy, just some good everyday jewelry. I tend to cycle through the same two pairs of earrings, and I'd like to mix it up a bit.
Check! Another great one from my dad.RedShoes wrote:- A new battery for my MacBook Pro. Not the most exciting gift, perhaps - but it's old, and the charge barely lasts a half hour these days. Sure, a new battery is only $100 or so - but I've been trying to be financially responsible... and as it's not a necessity that my laptop not be plugged in, so I haven't gotten one.

OK, I want this bad boy for Christmas next year...

Would probably take a good three days to build.

A mere £200! Looks like a lot of fun, though.

Red, I want a kitten for Xmas! But they're not allowed in our building. Sigh.
All I really wanted was the Cute Overload Page-a-Day Calendar, which I got, thanks to some spectacularly unsubtle early-December hinting. Also some fancy booze--my sister sent me a $50 bill taped to a picture of Glenlivet, but I ended up buying a large-ish bottle of Grey Goose instead. All the liquor stores around here have bulletproof glass everywhere, so when I found one that looked halfway welcoming, I was ready to compromise on selection.

Are The Specials The Specials without Jerry? The Jam are From The Jam without Paul, shouldn't this lot be called The Fairly Specials?
