On the way to camp this morning my daughter informed me that little flap that hangs down at the back of your throat is called a "hangy ball". Almost spit out my coffee.

Why is the upcoming Presidential election getting so little attention in the press? The unending battle between Hilary and Barrack was front page news every day. We should be seeing some spirited dialogue between the two candidates with the election just a few months away. All we've seen so far is McCain accusing Obama of be a "celebrity". It's got to get better than this!

But the Paris rebuttal was hilarious. And I can't stand her.

Do people in your area put these "in memoriam" stickers on their car windows for family/friends who have died? It's becoming disturbingly common around here.

Agree about Paris but I don't pay her much attention and really don't know why anybody would. The whole celebrity thing is a mystery to me.

I've never seen those window stickers. That's just a bit weird.

With the Olympics going on I think you won't hear much about the Presidential election for the next few weeks. I've had enough of it already. The whole process should be shortened to 2-3 months, max.

Credibility of both candidates is lacking, so it is up to the 'handlers' to position the celebrities. There is little reliable substance in either. So who can keep their candidate from making the critical gaff. When Barack get's fatigued, he gets jivey and starts to babble, so they sweep him off the stage and sequester him away. Same with McCain, but for Obama it is much more obvious and predictable...when they shut up Michelle, and the two other unannounced and sudden yank out of the limelight. Frankly, I love him when he gets funky and jivey (Obama) because in that moment he is real...not necessarily real enough to lead our country, but a real dude. McCain has been around the machinery too long to ever look real, except when he gets pissy, and then, the ultimate gaff.

It is really a sad sad choice for America. Hillary is kicking herself for not making Edwards secret public long ago, and diverting many of his primary votes to her, possibly changing the primary outcome/delegate count. BUT, she was trapped by Bill's situation, and it would have been painful for her to point the finger of indictment at Edwards after Bill's obvious lies and immoral transgressions while President.

So, what goes around really does come around. Too late now, Hillary.

This letter was recently sent by Tesco Head Office to a customer in Oxford :

Dear Mrs. Murray,

While we thank you for your valued custom and use of the Tesco Loyalty Card, the Manager of our store in Banbury is considering banning you and your family from shopping with us, unless your husband stops his antics.
Below is a list of offences over the past few months all verified by our surveillance cameras:

1. June 15: Took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's trolleys when they weren't looking.

2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.

3. July 7: Made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to feminine products aisle.

4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official tone, 'Code 3' in housewares..... and watched what happened.

5. August 14: Moved a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area.

6. September 15: Set up a tent in the outdoor clothing department and told shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring sausages and a Calor gas stove.

7. September 23: When the Deputy Manager asked if she could help him, he began to cry and asked, 'Why can't you people just leave me alone?'

8. October 4: Looked right into the security camera, used it as a mirror, picked his nose, and ate it.

9. November 10: While appearing to be choosing kitchen knives in the Housewares aisle asked an assistant if he knew where the antidepressants were.

10. December 3: Darted around the store suspiciously, loudly humming the Mission Impossible' theme.

11. December 6: In the kitchenware aisle, practised the 'Madonna look' using different size funnels.

12. December 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed, yelled 'PICK ME!' 'PICK ME!'

13. December 21: When an announcement came over the loudspeaker, assumed the foetal position and screamed 'NO! NO! It's those voices again.'

And; last, but not least:

14. December 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited a while; then yelled, very loudly, 'There's no toilet paper in here.'

The moment when she arrives at the match and there's a close-up of her face and she blinks? That one always gets me.

1. Michael Phelps may be the best athlete of the year.

2. When did Eva L."s TV husband on Desperate Housewives become blind?

Yep, a lot of fun to watch. Usain Bolt's mindblowing performance in the 100m was pretty special as well.

Phelps is amazing.

The Jamaican sprinters are incredible as well. Shelly-Ann Fraser is a phenominal athlete.

Yep, back to school is this coming Wednesday here in Clover. The end of the summer break is the end of paradise, according to migdd jr. My oldest is starting Jr. High this year and I'm a bit afraid!

We're not back in school until after Labor Day. I will be off to Niagara Falls with the fam next week, but I'm relying on moody to keep the tumbleweeds rollin' in my absence.

Going by the Olympics Britain can call itself Great again.

However the kiss of death that is Gordon Brown has been congratulating Team GB so that's scuppered our chances of any more medals...

That swimming gold medal by Adlington was pretty cool. Lost a bit over here due to all the Phelps hype the same day.

Lots of good stories in these Olympics so far. But the gymnastics judging has been ridiculously lenient for the pre-pubescent Chinese. (I'm man enough to admit I've been watching it.)
