Wake up you footy fans!!!

Bring on the Savage Barbadosians!
Yeah it was blazing in the first half, so the heavy rain there at the end was most welcome. How did the grass look on TV? It was sooooooo nice not having to look at that awful FieldTurf pitch.

How's his English ? You think he'll have no problems with communication ?
He usually does a lot of shouting and arm waving. :)

Supposedly speaks English well, from what I've read.

Heard a Beeb interview he did from around the time of the England manager speculation. He certainly speaks English well enough to be able to get his point across to players, media, etc. Speaks the language more fluently than Ranieri did when he was hired.

It wasn't pretty, but it was a shitload betterlooking than losing 4-1 in D.C. Stammler, you da man.

Yeah, but we could (should?) have had all three points!

Dallas on Saturday at the Swamp.

A point on the road (from what is probably the best in MLS right now - though they didn't show much for it) from an all! new! lineup. I'm sad, a little, but it could have been gruesome. They brought it last night.

Whatever 'it' is!

We really need to add some quality. I hope a few new players arrive soon. I never want to see Chris Leitch play again. Boyens is USL quality.

The nicest thing I can say about Boyens is that I like his haircut. Echeverry was nice to my kids in Charleston, but that's about it. Glad to see Carlos back in, but yes, we need quality (with some shelf life, please!) ASAFP.

Schweinsteiger on Sir Alex's list of possible Ronaldo's replacements ??!

My God, the trio of Schweinsteiger, Rooney and Tevez could become a real nightmare of Premier League defenders.

If Schweini keeps floating crosses into Row Z I don't think defenders would have much to worry about.

Doesn't Ronaldo need to leave first?

No ref to this rumour on the BBC's gossip section. It's bad enough having to look at Ballack on MOTD, a weekly dose of Schweinstieger would surely ruin the season? The only gossip is about a renewed attempt to get Berbie. He'll do.

Farewell to Mottie (legendary BBC commentator). He was sounding semi-senile on Sunday, especially when he attempted some horrendous play on words with 'the señors have now become the seniors'. Grooooan!

I was really hoping for Motty to say "Frings can only get better" or "Frings ain't what he used to be".

Somehow I doubt Motty had that one in mind! Although I'd love to have heard him say it

Did anyone notice Mr Linneker refer to Spain as "The biennial under-achievers" ? This might well have been clever word play, which is not something you'd expect in a Sports presenter.

So my Red Bulls have signed this collection of players in the space of two weeks.

Gabriel Cichero - Venezuelan international defender:

Diego Jimenez - young Mexican defender:

Jorge Rojas, Venezuelan national team attacking MF and Juan Pietravallo, Argentine defensive MF:

Certainly can't hurt because we are playing like crap at the moment. And I like the fact that they are mostly younger players. Even Rojas, the most experienced, has more good years left in him. Is it too much to expect them to run Beckham and the Gals ragged next Saturday? Yeah, probably, but a better effort would be nice. And we will need a striker to compliment Angel at some point with Jozy gone to Spain.
