We bought a Weber last summer and are really pleased with it. We don't get into one with too many fancy gadgets or some outdoor kitchen kind of thing, but just a simple grill. It's a good brand and holds up to a lot of use.

I used to have a propane grill and now I'm on charcoal. I agree that charcoal is much less convenient, and makes a mess, but frankly, I don't understand all these high-dollar fancy stainless steel propane grills. What is the point of cooking outdoors with what amounts to the same stove that you have indoors? Gotta have the smoke and the wood flavor or it ain't grillin.

You can still add the wood chips to a propane grill if you want the wood flavor. I've always been a charcoal proponent, but it is such a pain and we grill so much in the summer months that I need something more low maintenance that will allow me to throw some food on the grill whenever we want.

If only we had gas in our kitchen! We have electric, which I hate - no way to effectively regulate the heat.

Yep. Went out for a haircut at lunch and decided to go the extra mile.

for the gas grill enthusiast.

p.s. any of you Coke/Sprite/Powerade/Nestea/Vault etc. drinkers not saving those Coke points, feel free to PM them to me. I could say it was for a good cause, but that would be lying. And yes, I could go to the store and buy the GPS pedometer thingy, but where's the challenge in that?

Almost did this on our last cruise but decided that I'd pass at $56 for a shave. I imagine the local barber charges quite a bit less than that.

Where is Kenilworth in the UK? I may be over there in October with my wife - she has a conference and we were thinking about bringing the fam over. I'll have to find something to do with the kids for a couple of days, but otherwise we would be free to get around. Or we may leave the kids here if we can get someone to stay here while we're gone.

Kenilworth is in the Midlands, WSS. A good base if you want to visit Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon (http://www.stratford-upon-avon.co.uk/index.htm) but that's about it. It's close to Birmingham (the UK's 'second city') but most people give that a miss because folk talk funny there.

Thanks. Yeah, looks like it's a bit to the south of Coventry. We would only need to be there for two days and would have the rest of the week to roam around as we please - if the trip comes off.

If I were to invent a hangover cure, it would be a warm broth that you drink out of a bowl, and you can feel it going through your whole body, and as it passes through you, the hangover is replaced by a soft glow of well-being. Can someone get on inventing a hangover cure, please? Like, within the next hour or so would be great.

Make sure you let me know if you make it over. It'd be good to see you again.

I am also in the market for a new barbecue grill. It needs to be a proper bloke one.

Every time I hear the word "propane" it reminds me of Hank Hill.

I think she's already been traumatised by my singing.

Perhaps I should don a dress and sing I Want To Break Free to really tip her over the edge!

I heard once that research showed that all singing to young children, however bad, is musically beneficial to them, but there must be a point at which it gets so bad it just traumatises them.
