Random Thoughts

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

I like Feist. I liked her on Later (which comes back on Tues at 10pm as a live broadcast, wowowowow!), and I adore her big hit.

PoP: that random thought is awaiting expansion. What did you find in a skip of note?

I'm disappointed in you, Sam. T-ball and not soccerball? Chaos at that age! When Steven (now 22 - yikes.) started, they played 8 on 8 on a little field and it was like a swarm of bees going up and down the field in slow motion. One kid got knocked down, got up to a round of applause, so they all started diving. Hilarious. Like synchronized swimming. Only on grass. And without the lovely swim caps.

<brag>
On a side note, big ups to the austinator on his hat trick last night. He learned everything he knows from me.

The soccer and t-ball seasons don't coincide, so if the boy wants to do soccer as well, I'm all for it. Nice thing is that the coach of the team is his friend Paddy's dad, and there are a couple of his classmates on the team as well.

Steven played baseball one season. It was the longest two months of my life. Fun for some, excruciating for me. The sacrifices we mothers make!

A full suspension mountain bike, one of those big ugly jobbies. There's next to nothing wrong with it, just needs a new chain and a front brake cable and they're going for £70-80 on ebay. :D

We had heaps of snow yesterday. I went outside with my 4 year old nephew into the garden who then proceeded to walk to the garden table, look at a pile of snow about two inches deep on top of it and decided to put himself head first into it. Class

It's spring. No snow allowed.

Which is total bs. Way back when (21 years ago), WE had a blizzard in April. Steven was like 15 months old (I can't be bothered to do the math), and I put him in his little snowsuit and stuck him out in it - it came up to his armpits and he screamed. We also lost power for a week and I had to keep my groceries in the snow.

Good times, good times.

Moody, was that the one in late March 1993? Boy, we got snowed in for a week, lost power, and kept groceries in the snow.

I remember these people from our church had their own t-shirt business and made some after the snowstorm saying "I survived the BIG one!" I couldn't help but laugh. They had no idea what they had done.

Nevermind. I just saw that you said 21 years ago, I was looking at 15 but you said the kid was 15 months.

Nevermind.

Well, I have a Blizzard of '93 story, too. StorIES, actually, but I'll confine it to this Tidbit of Family Lore.

I got up, because I was supposed to be at work, and see approximately 4 feet of snow in the driveway. And everywhere else. It drifted over the kids' slide on the backyard swing set. Down the hall toddles the Notorious KTJ, who is just barely talking at the time.

First words out of her mouth, with all this snow to behold?

'I wanna go Walmart.'

15 years later, she still wanna-goes me. Only more upscale.

I knew I could count on you to catch my reference, cosmos.

Seriously though - Justin Timberlake is yet another example of a pop star elevated to some kind of critically-acclaimed status without really deserving it. His music is mediocre at best.

I agree completely about Mister Timberlake. And I have honestly listened to his music to try and figure out what the big deal is. I'm still trying to figure it out. :?

Haterz.

As "celebrity" goes, he's no where near as annoying as the others. I'm not really a fan of his music, but he's seems like he has a sense of humor.
