Bobster Commands Thee Redux

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Bobster Commands Thee Redux

Post by bobster »

Obviously, I need to be more brief and to the point this time.

See "Serenity" THIS weekend, okay.

Why. Don't listen to me, listen to the assembled wisdom of journos and movie fans...

That's it. Promise not to do this again -- don't wanna cause no anti-Browncoat, or worse, anti-Bobster, backlash.

I smell a street team!

But I do plan to see this soon-- I have the little guy all weekend, so that's out... Gonna see Revenge of the Were Rabbit tomorrow, however, with three 5-6 yr.-olds.

Well, can't argue there. It looks like it's W&G is a great movie -- "Serenity" more than a little bit violent/scary for anyone under 10/11 or so, I'd say...but perhaps if you nod approvingly at the poster or something.

Will that earn you the jacket or merely the signed poster? I'm just poking fun...

1st prize is a brand new cadillac. Anybody wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired!

You know what it takes to be a browncoat? Do you? It takes brass balls. Go and do likewise gents.

No one comes to the multiplex unless they want to see the movie....

Put the coffee down. Coffee is for browncoats.

Apparently, America isn't getting a lot of office coffee this week, but the UK is will get a nice cuppa.

C'mon yanks, fall in already! I'm getting a might twitchy here.

Sorry, bobster, I couldn't convince my 5-year old daughter to see "Serenity" today (she has Columbus Day off and Mommy's taking her to lunch and the movies). She chose "Wallace & Gromit" instead.

I'm glad! Don't want any reaver-based five year old nightmares on my conscious! :D

BTW -- someone's listening, though the U.S. box office was kind of a mixed bag (and, based on some late breaking anecdotal reports, may be getting mixier, though probably in a positive direction), "Serenity" was #1 at the U.K. boxoffice this weekend.

Wallace & Gromit = well deserved #1 this past weekend
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

Haven't seen it yet, but you'll get no argument from me. I was into W&G well before they were cool.

Loves me some Wallace & Grommit. Great film. Completely satisfying.

Bobster, is it OK if i wait for the DVD? I promise I'll rent it if you say it's OK to wait. Babysitting is a bitch. I'm asking for a special dispensation from Pope Bob VII. It's allowed. I read it in the Vulgate of St. Schlomo.

I tend to be forgiving of the needs of parents (who, if they're going to see a movie at all right now, are going to go with the W&G, for good reason). However....we need each and every one of you...at the theaters...now, really. Things are okay, but kind of on the edge. At this rate, I might have to wait awhile for the sequel (I'm sure it's coming, it's just a matter of when and, perhaps, in what form.) That would be bad.

So, a compromise...if you want a dispensation BUY the DVD. I know it's a lot for a movie you haven't seen, but I'm not sure how renting factors into the money equation...kind of indirect. But, if you must rent it then go ahead. We'll be fine. Really.. Then, I'm betting, you'll want to buy the series DVD. But that doesn't go to Universal...My head hurts.

BTW -- Good work, U.K folk. Keep it up!

Can you be an apostate if you were never that into it in the first place?

Yes, well, you know, Internet message boards don't work unless everyone is completely honest. It's their reason for being, and I will not let you subvert it!
