This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Trader Joe's half-sour "Kosher" dill pickles are the only store bought pickle to duplicate the garlicky thrill of a true Jewish deli-bought pickel.

Here! Here! I work with this kid who has a "GTRDN" license plate and actually looks like he could be Larry The Cable Guy's kid. He also thinks farting loudly in mixed company is funny which, I guess, is par for the course with the Blue Collar gang.

Oh for the days when I used to get annoyed at my friends for quoting Bill Hicks, Monty Python and The Rocky Horror Picture Show to excess.

I hate overhearing people's phone conversations, especially since one of my coworkers laughs like Basil's wife on Fawlty Towers
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

I actually had to google "git r done" and "Larry the Cable Guy"...somehow. So don't understand the full breadth and context. Somehow, all of this has flown underneath my radar.

I guess I'm spending too much time on various political blogs and various "Serenity/Firefly" related websites (oh, btw, the new trailer airs during this week's SCI-FI "Firefly" broadcast...tell the world!!!!!)

I always marvel at how people can smoke outdoors when it is eighty degrees or better. Doesn't smoking make a person sweat more or something?

I wish I got all the breaks during the day that smokers seem to get.

This is why I was trying to convince people that coffee drinking is a noxious habit, so me and all the other coffee drinkers in the office can hang for a few minutes.

But then I just remembered who most of them are in my office, and I thought otherwise.

Does gray matter melt? I feel stupider and stupider every degree above 95 we get. Luckily it's supposed to break tomorrow; in the mean time, the boy and I have had the tub filled with cool water every night and we just each dip in once or twice an evening to cool off. We refer to it as 'the pool'.

Why do I have the worst work ethic ever? It's 10:35 pm and I have yet to start studying for a final exam I have at 9 am tomorrow!

My (still) husband has a girlfriend, and I'm genuinely happy for him. Life is weird.

So MANY of my thoughts are random ones lately....

If indeed Michael Jackson is a very sick man, I still pity him. At a certain impressionable age (12 or so), he gave me
something. Beat It, Thriller... what was the next one - Billie Jean? and after that - Smooth Criminal (?)

I'm with you on that one. I used to be able to work from home effectively, but these days I seem to spend the whole day surfing the net, gazing out of the window and making coffee.

For Pete's sake, why is the door to the men's locker room at my gym always open? This assault upon my senses is the last thing I need at 6:30 AM.

Sure thing, Gilli, but you should know that at that hour of the morning, the place is populated mostly by wet, naked, and apparently, cold grandpas!

Time to pack in the space shuttle program I think. Even my brother-in-law, who works at the Cape, thinks it's a waste of time. They've been up there for days and all they seem to be doing is repairing all of the stuff that got damaged on launch and biting their fingernails over all of the things that could go wrong on re-entry. What a farce.
