Yay, Poppet.
And I'm all excited and everything, way too much actually. But everytime I see that "Can't Stop the Signal" tagline, I think about the Village People movie, "Can't Stop the Music" (which I still haven't seen....). This can't be entirely good.

"Serenity" is based on IMO Joss "Buffy" Whedon's best series, the way-prematurely cancelled series science fiction quasi-Western "Firefly." Strong DVD sales allowed him to, somehow, convince Universal to do a movie version with the same movie-star free cast.
Since the movie won't be out until September, and because I guess they're trying to build a real groundswell, they've been scheduling special screenings in selected cities which have been selling out within a matter of moments.
I have no clue what the business about the "can't stop the signal is" even though I've watched most of the TV series (many episodes twice and some thrice).

"can't stop the signal" is from the *movie*. don't recall hearing it ever in the series.
what's the purpose of a movie tagline? this one doesn't make sense unless you see it in context.
if there are more screenings (rumours say yes, others say no) they'll be announced, though generally too late, at

fyi, the best source for any news re: joss whedon is whedonesque.com. that's where i got the scoop on this round of previews (for which i have tickets again! yeah, i'm stupid that way.)
and yeah, having seen all of the episodes now (watched all 13 this weekend on DVD), it's GREAT stuff and should NOT have been cancelled. i thought the premise was warped and insane too (sci-fi/western???) but it is MARVELOUS television.
if i had a chance to meet either joss or elvis, i'd meet joss. it may be heresy here, but it's my truth.

Well, Joss actually posts on his boards sometimes, and he's also far less likely to write a cutting song about you afterwards if you say something dumb.
He also seems to fear no stalker, but I guess that's the difference between being a writer/producer/director, albeit one with an insanely devoted following who hangs on his every quip, and a "rock star."
