Anyone else watching?

I don't know what I'll do when Desperate Housewives comes on, but for now I'm watching them. The opening sequence wasn't all that exciting--confusing and messy are better words. I hate Alicia Keys, but that was a kick ass performance. And I love me some Jamie Foxx.

The best part so far? Adam Sandler and Nelly presenting the award for best R&B male.

"Unfortunately, Prince can't be here, so I'll gladly accept this award on his behalf. And, I guess I'll also say "OWWWAH!" on his behalf, too."

I shouldn't think that's as funny as I do.

Watching and waiting here.

But at the same time, I am helping kids with homework assignments, making cupcakes for tomorrow's Valentine's parties at school, and trying to drink wine at the same time. I suppose I'm multi-tasking. 8)

Go Elvis!

Damn, Mavis.

I don't know how I feel about the rest of that segment.

Candy, what did you think of that "religious musical tribute"?

Hey Spooky,

What do you say we put the kids to bed and get some dinner?

I think the Janis Joplin segment made up for the jacked-up religious thing.

Joss Stone is a hell of a fair skinned black singer. and Melissa rawked.

Listen to your hubby, Spooky.

Was it just me or did Kris Kristofferson look a bit rough even for almost 69?

He hasn't had the best few last years, has he?

Bill Bob Thornton, however, is a sexy hillbilly.

Amazingly Lorreta Lynn is 4 years older and looking much better.

She sounds like a combination of Mrs S' and my grandmothers. :-)

Is this like a lifetime achievement nod and they know EC still has years left?

Or a conspiracy?

Dunno. But I hate "Monkey to Man". I just kinda wish he'd won.

I'm so tired of U2 anymore. Self-important bastages.

Again, I'm just not that entertained by this broadcast. But then again, I wasn't expecting to be.

Loretta Lynn was cute. And they let her do whatever she wanted to on stage because she is a living legend. :)

He's still got it!! I can't remember what year it was but I saw James Brown perform at one of Charlie Daniels' Volunteer Jams.

Even after all these years he is amazing -- no one else could end a song with "sex machine."

He did work it. But what was up with "ladies and gentlemen, the new Godfather"? JB, couldn't you have picked someone else?

No surprises here. Ray Charles won. And he should have.

Now can I go to bed?

And--I will personally travel to anyone's house who downloads the awful version of "Across the Universe". That mess was horible. Just donate another way. Don't make these people think they did a good job.

They did butcher it, didn't they... John's turning in his grave, I'm afraid. Joss Stone and Melissa Etheridge on the other hand... wow.... And thank god for Lorett Lynn.
Overall, was good show. Much better than in years past, I think.
Wondering if Clinton showed up to pick up his trophy...

Caught only bits and pieces, but oh my god, Melissa Etheridge! She's my new hero.

Loretta Lynn - adorable.

Sheryl Crow - Just because she can wear a dress like that doesn't mean she should.

Tim McGraw - what crappy singer, but holy cow, does he look yummy in a tight t-shirt and jeans or what?

Yes, Goody--Melissa Ethridge is totally my hero. She rocked the head and rocked the house. It was a fabulous thing to see--perhaps the best thing all night.

My first successful Grammy boycott turned out quite well. I was happy to see Wilco's A Ghost Is Born was recognized for Best Alternative Music Album, even though they rarely televise that category. Elvis' loss to U2 doesn't surprise me, even if he is more deserving.

I love Ray Charles, but the Genius Loves Company CD left me kind of bored. As usual, most of the year's best albums weren't even nominated.
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.
