Valentine's Day, Good Thing Or Most Crap Holiday Ever?

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

I'm afraid that one's going to cost you your Valentine's hot monkey love.

If I let his corny jokes stand in the way of hot monkey love, we'd never have any.

But he did bring home a copy of the DeLovely DVD AND movie soundtrack on CD tonight. Now we can finally watch it without all the old biddies in the theatre. :)

Valentine's Day is about the sacredness of the sacraments and a brave priest who gave his life fulfilling his duty and being true to his vows. It is about love human and spiritual and should be acknowledged by those who can appreciate that.

It's such a bore when people complain about the commercialization of holidays.

Personally speaking, I love Valentine's Day. :D

uh, maybe that was the intent once upon a time, but hasn't the Church, who get to decide which saints you honor and which are hokum, taken St. Valentine off the lists?

so, at this point, it's a 'hallmark' holiday.

then again, i'm not Catholic. what do i know?
... name the stars and constellations,
count the cars and watch the seasons....

Firstly, why do you need a "special" day to appreciate love?

Secondly, there are a number of stories/legends surrounding the origins of Valentines Day.
