Tower of Song

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Tower of Song

Post by El Vez »

Before I scare any of you away, let me just say that this time I am limiting myself to THREE picks after this initial list. I was entirely too obnoxious last time around and I do not want to make that mistake again. Same rules as before and this one ends on May 29th at 1:00 p.m. eastern mountain time.

Robyn Hitchcock - Uncorrected Personality Traits
Richard & Linda Thompson - Don't Renege On Our Love
Joe Jackson - Is She Really Going Out With Him?
Nancy Sinatra - Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)
The Rolling Stones - That's How Strong My Love Is
Albert King - Born Under A Bad Sign
Mos Def - Rock N Roll
The Ramones - Questioningly
Aimee Mann - Deathly
Beth Orton - Stolen Car

I'm beating ElVez to it this time... the most pompous piece of crap ever put to vinyl in my opinion. My most hated song of all time (it is my ID4 of music)!

To help redress the balance:

Out: The Who (love Keith Moon, don't know that song)
In: Spice Girls (historical perspective confirms it's a bona fide pop classic, a la Abba, and this is an EC board, so you can't argue with that, and it looks nice in such august company)

The Kinks - Waterloo Sunset
Nick Drake - Hazy Jane I
The Rolling Stones - Beast of Burden
David Bowie - Ashes to Ashes
Neil Young - Heart of Gold
Prince - When Doves Cry
Spice Girls - Wannabe
The Clash - Straight To Hell
Lou Reed - Walk On The Wild Side
Mott the Hoople - All the Young Dudes
