Tis the Season

Post by mood swung »

so, get busy.

here's my afternoon's effort, apologies to C. Moore.

Twas some days before Christmas and here on the board
I was antsy and nervous, going out of my gourd.

The iPods delivered, the baitcaster bought,
The cookies all eaten, the nog come to naught.

And work? What is that? I won’t do it, I won’t!
It’s a “holiday season” – ergo, work is a “don’t.”

Bad Poems to write, and Country Tunes to ingest
Arty threads to subvert, best of ‘05 to suggest

If quantity counts, then I’m sure I’m the Best
EC poster in all of the east and the west

I didn’t get votes, but I did get a mention
And it boosted my ego, its certain intention.

The longer I write, the worse it becomes so
I’ll say merry Christmas, season’s greets, ho! ho! ho!

Subvert you kid, you and enjoy the season if just to annoy. Here is a bad poem for those of all and no faiths:

Sugar plum meet me there
With some holly in your hair

Visions of you in through memories snow
Make me hang far too much mistletoe

In the meadow we can build more than a man of snow
The fever sans cabin will surely melt away our woe

You see me when I'm sleeping, you know when I'm awake
Wrappings a superfluous for the plans we will make

It's up to your knees out there, so stay inside you fool
Tidings of every kind for this nice and naughty yule
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."

Back after a 3 month absence with only her 10th post of the year! Nice to see you, LJ, and may your season be jolly, and your hair full of holly.

Mood Swung judges the best and the worst and boy I have some worst coming up. . The best to you and yours Otis and you Solacklustre.

Merci Otis for the notice. Kiss your boys for me. It's late and I must do a bunch of things before I sleep so as bad as this poem is I'll post it.

To all the members old and new
The greatest joys I wish for you

Believing or not or are just unsure
May hope and peace for you endure

Gifts and food, may you have your fill
In this season of cheer and good will

As the old year passes and the new one dawns
May it sing to you the very sweetest of songs
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."
