This type of rabid, self obsessed, narcisistic drivel should not be tolerated on this board.

Opinions are one thing. But when a person gets so inflammatory as to cause mass hysteria among the rest of the posters, I think action needs to be taken.

Blue Chair, please apologize for your insulting remark. Or run the risk of losing me, and, dare I say, a great portion of this board, as contributing members.

The only thing I can see that he should apologise for is plagiarism

I have paid for this song on 5 different CD's, and when I rip them to MP3 they ALL sound better than the downloaded pirate versions.

Yes it's a good song, but it sounds even better when you've paid for it 5 times over.

Hah. Well.

Blue was being clever. There has been a lot of criticism for the lack of worthwhile posts(see "Glitter Gulch" and "I, finally, fallen to Get Happy!!" - both by me). This post was to poke fun at my lightweight posts.

I IM'ed him about it, and he said "there's no reason to make a new thread because you like something".

And that is the great joke.

I guess that the real joke is that there is little value in just saying:

"I like Elvis Costello songs" because that should be a 'given'. Otherwise why would you be here?

Now if Blue had said WHY he liked AWH then that would have been fine.

Just typing: "I like Alison because it is a sweet little song that I will have played at my funeral" is just a little boring really. Isn't it a bit better to write meanigfully of why you like ONE song, than to just repeatedly say I love Detectives or I love Broken or Chelsea etc?

In the words of that old geezer who was in Wham once:

"If you've got something to say, why don't you say it".

But having said that, we all have the right to post what we like as long as it isn't abusive to others.

Jackson - in the even more immortal words of that geezer from Wham, "If you're gonna do it, do it right".

I like Elvis Costello by the way. Controversial I know but that's the kind of guy that I am!

Yeah Jackson, the meaning of the joke was obvious. You don't need to explain it thoroughly.
