EC at McCartney's birthday party picture

Post by PlaythingOrPet »

I tried posting this story earlier but something happened to it...

Apparantly his missus Heather spent something like 25 grand recently on an Indian-themed party at their house in Laandan. Among the guests were these two suspicious looking blokes:

I was going to say Diana's really let herself go....

looks like he got another new shirt! His mom will be so proud.
I've always thought Ringo would be a really cool next door neighbor.

it isn't too bad, is it LTZ? i don't know why i have it, i just do. surprisingly rocking, good sound, not all cliches, self-deprecating humor. indeed, a fun next door neighbor.

I like that picture. I think they both look quite well, and El always looks a bit smug, doesn't he?

Thanks for this great photo, Plaything! I wonder if this was El's first meeting with Ringo. If so, I'm sure he was thrilled.

Before the Beatles Anthology was released, EC was invited to a premiere showing in a private cinema. More than likely Paul, George and Ringo were there.

How insane would that be?

It´s not my fault if they are. I mean, they are not precisely Elle and Naomi, aren´t they?

Aesthetic disertation:
I think two of the beatles had very interesting faces: George hadn´t, though a lot of girls say he was actually the most handsome one. And about our man, Pete Thomas is definitely handsome, and also Steve Nieve is (except for the period when he shaved his head, the PTC period). But we better don´t talk about the boss of the band or the absolutely anti-sexy Bruce Thomas!

(Anyway, aesthetic is always subjetive!)

Man, that's just your opinion. So I suggest you shut your mouth. Why is it even an issue, anyway? I happen to enjoy seeing photographs of Elvis. Do I think "that guy's handsome, or that guy's ugly"? No. He's got a distinctive look, which I think is interesting. But he's a musician, not a model, so who the fuck cares?

Hey, man, I was only joking!

Calm down, boy... maybe I´d have another pill for ya!

(And by the way "subjective" means precisely that: It was MY opinion).

I woke up to three private messages (I won't say from whom) thanking me for telling you to stop calling Elvis ugly.

There are many ladies on this board who happen to have a big crush on Elvis, and I doubt very much that they like seeing you react so verbally to Elvis' appearance.

Opinion or not opinion, whatever. The bottom line is that calling people ugly (especially those you allegedly 'admire') is not an admirable personality trait. How would you like it if someone started posting about how ugly they find you?

Respect, dude. It's something we all should be treating people with. Obviously Elvis should be included in that category. Calling people ugly is an insult, I don't care if it's your opinion.

OK, sorry.

I didn´t know this Forum (being Elvis´) was so politically correct...

And anyway I didn´t mean to insult anyone or to offend anyone, at any time.

ELVIS COSTELLO IS BEAUTIFUL AS A SPRING MORNING .

And I think it´s clear I deeply admire him (not only "allegedly").

This is to say it won´t happen again. No more commentaries about who´s ugly or handsome. Ah, by the way, my photograph is over there: you may call me ugly or whatever, I don´t care, I don´t consider it an insult but a proof of good taste.

Guys, GUYS! Of course it is KoS's right to voice an opinion on the aesthetic qualities (or lack of) of Mr. Costello. Just don't go on about it, Kos. If Elvis is the epitome of ugliness (according to you) I'd hate to see someone really ugly!

Ok, so he's no Clark Gable, but he's alright...not that I'd noticed or anything.

It's whats inside that counts ya know.

Hey KoS....so you said EC was shit guitarist and pianist, you slagged off his looks, you wanna illegally distribute his music, and you slept with his fiance...ok the last ones just hearsay, but the point is, are you even a fan of this bloke?

Ringo Starr will mainly be the man that voiced a million trains to me, and a fat controller.

This is great!

You can´t make any joke or say he´s not precisely Eric Clapton or even Chris Spedding, otherwise you´ll be fired from the REAL FANS club... And of course you cannot even think he´s not a Queen of the Beauty! I so, you will be considered to deserve the maximum punishment!

Oh my! I thought all EC fans had some little sense of humour in common.
Still I think so.
All this is nothing but a joke... isn´t it, folks?

If there is still any doubt about my absolute devotion to this handsome and ellegant and perfect guitar and piano player who happens to be also the best songwriter alive or dead, please check my post "10 reasons to love EC".

PS I wasn´t talking about distributing his music, but the originals from Almost blue´s songs: you can´t even find most of this country classics on CD so I thought It wouldn´t be a crime. It seems to be, according to the guardians of morality.
