I'm glad...that Beacon Theatre has really become corporate venue dreck! I'll take these other three trips happily if I'm in the mood for several shows.
I hear you, as regards the Beacon. But it's simply not plausible that in New York, the premier American city with more performance spaces than any other, the only choices EC (and we) have are the Beacon and....Port Chester? Red Bank, NJ? Really???

EC fans in Boston, Chicago, Philly, Kansas CIty, LA and the rest all get to see him at venues that are actually in their cities. NY fans are the only ones who get subjected to this BS.
When EC played Brooklyn Steel a couple years ago, I thought that was fantastic and I hoped it would become a regular stop. Alas.

Speaking of Brooklyn...how is it that he's never played the Kings Theatre?

Could it be that this tour won't feature backup singers? Fingers crossed!

This is Elvis Costello reporting…

The cancelation of JazzFest in New Orleans has been a big disappointment and discouragement for musicians, organizers, crew and music fans alike. We look forward to our next visit to the city in better days.
We are trying to make the best of this situation by arranging for the “Hello Again” tour to visit a few more U.S. cities during the second week of October.
Please standby for forthcoming announcements.

However, something else stands in the way of my return to the stage with The Imposters at the end of August.
I will hand you over to Steve Nieve to explain.
"There is no sign of the US border opening for French or UK citizens, so we were obliged to make a decision regarding the appearance in Kansas City (August 27th) and in Omaha (August 28th). My colleagues will be welcoming our friend, Charlie Sexton, the brilliant Texas guitarist, who plays most of the time with Bob Dylan.
I’m sure it will make for a rocking good time.
I wish I could be there to hear them but feel certain that my “letters of transit” will be in my possession before the “Hello Again” tour kicks off on the Soundstage at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee on October 13th and E.C, Pete, Davey and myself will look forward to seeing you all then.
Your friend through music, Steve Nieve”

E.C. here again.
After being off the stage since we played the Hammersmith Apollo in March 2020, it is very disappointing not to be able to smuggle Steve Nieve into the country in time to play for our friends at the Uptown Theatre in Kansas City and at the City of Omaha Celebration but we want to thank our pal, Charlie Sexton for stepping in at short notice and will look forward to these unique shows by “Elvis Costello & The Layabouts”.
